A still life (plural still lifes) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either
natural (food, flowers, dead animals, plants, rocks, or shells) or
man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, and so
on).

Donna has asked us to photograph 4 or 5 still lifes
and I don't have a clue how to do it the right way.
I am sure there are rules for photographing still life....
I have just gone back in time and chose photos that appealed to me.
I hope they qualify as STILL LIVES.

ReplyDeleteYou instinctively do still life photography for the vast majority of your blog pictures, so I knew you would have no trouble with this assignment. There is one thing that you excel at too - adding layers of items to provide visual interest. Like the pretty ribbon and greenery in the background of the first setup. And the pot of parsley behind the container filled with cookies. You know how to stage a shot! Well done, sweetie. This assignment was a piece of cake for you (with a cherry on top)!
ReplyDeleteBJ, I think your photos are great. I love your black and white accents. xoxo,Susie
