Good morning, everyone.
This moving and getting a new house in order can be HARD WORK.
We haven't moved in 40 years and had NO idea of the magnitude of the work involved.
Don't get me wrong...
we know and feel the blessing every single minute of the gift our son and his family have given us.
We are loving this new space...
Part of the living area
was built to house a
magnificent POOL TABLE.
When we started to move into this pool/guest house,
son, David, moved the pool table into the big house.
No windows in this room and the wall color has made it a very dark room.
We will be painting a lighter color soon....but not adding windows...
A large mirror, right across from the large window in the tv area, reflects enuf light now
to be ALMOST as good as a window.
A lighter paint color will also lessen the darkness.
Mirrors are one of my favorite things to use for decorating...
This is a television armoire that goes with our bedroom suite.
Since we have a larger tv in the bedroom now than can fit into this space,
I am using it in the living room
to hold books and etc.
I needed a large piece of furniture for this spot and this armoire is working out really great.
Don't ya love it when you can use a loved piece, no longer serving the purpose, in another area.....?
Meee, too.
ANOTHER new pillow....
(i had NO idea I had a PILLOW FETISH.)
O, but this one is so special...
leather with those french words.
I found it on EBAY...
This pitiful showing of HALLOWEEN DECORATING
is all I have to offer for this holiday.
Way to much going on to even THINK of decorating......
but, I couldn't let it pass by without some salute to the fun Oct. 31th...

It is all coming together, and I love your boo-tiful Halloween vignette. Moving is such hard work. But when it is all done and the dust settles, you can relax and enjoy it all. xo
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that you could create home under a bridge. Since this is no bridge, you'll have yourself some fun tackling it slow and steady. It looks fabulous with someone else's color choices...I can only imagine what it'll be with your colors.
ReplyDeleteYou have so much style. Loving what you have shown us so far. What a gift for sure. Plus you will see everyone more often. (((((HUGS))))
ReplyDeleteOh BJ, I am so happy that everything worked out for you. What a lovely home you have now and so close to your son and family. Don't work to hard in getting everything in order - everything looks fabulous so enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Mary

ReplyDeleteI know it is a lot of work but you actually make it look easy!
ReplyDeleteI like your Halloween decorations, great colors in the pumpkins BJ! Just chip away at the move a little at a time, you'll be settled before you know it:@)
ReplyDeleteYes, moving is hard work. I feel for you, it has been 6 years since we moved in here. I too love it when a loved piece continues to be loved even if it is in a different area! Everything is looking good!

OMG moving at our age is just plain fun and terrible LOL
ReplyDeleteI am trying to de clutter my stash of collectibles just in case I want to move to a condo
I am sure you will have your new place fixed up like a small bloggers mansion LOL
I think I seen you on TV in a commercial?
Take your time and don't over do getting your new home in order. Love your Halloween decorations. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteP.S. Happy Halloween.
BJ, I love your decorating style. It looks so cozy and inviting!
ReplyDeleteSo you're saying I can come anytime to swim in the pool? Your halloween deckies are perfect.
ReplyDeleteHi bj, As someone who has moved several times I feel for you! Soon you will be settled and be able to enjoy that beautiful location! I'm so sorry to hear about your blog loss and I'm following your new one now. When you have a chance maybe you can explain more about why this happened just by changing your email! That is scarier than any halloween costumes I'll see tomorrow! Linda
ReplyDeletebj - I would love that space too! The outdoor living is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
Deb
looking good my friend. I know how difficult moving can be. But you are going to have everything looking gorgeous as you are one very talented lady. Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop. You help to make it so much fun.♥
ReplyDeleteWow how nice! I wouldn't like moving- we have too much stuff! Your room looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove your little halloween vignette! Happy Halloween!
BJ,
ReplyDeleteLove your use of mirrors to reflect the light from within the room!!!
We're gearing up to prep and paint a bedroom here on the Prairie. . .
for once, I'm dreading all the work involved. Still NO energy!
Hoping the end results will lift my spirits and surge me on to
other areas of my home before the Holidays are upon us!!!
Your new HOME is reflecting your warm inviting taste, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I love the new place it is perfect and the pool your gonna love...I too love to decorate with mirrors, I took a tip from Candice Olson the decorator, she has pieces of mirror cut to size and puts them in the back of book shelves and credenza shelves, wow it just opens up the entire piece and reflects light, it is the coolest light...If I were you I would paint those walls a soft white, with all your pretty things and beautiful colors you like, it will be perfect for any holiday...lol ..well thats all the decorating advise for today...lollll...hugs Phyllis
ReplyDeleteCool...You got a lovely home...
ReplyDeleteThe thought of moving makes my head hurt, but I know the day is coming. :/
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and reading along.
That's just beautiful BJ!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're getting settled in so beautifully! It's going to be just fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
What happened to Mr. Sweet?!
ReplyDeleteI saw a sidebar pointing me to your blog on Vee's...hopped over out of curiosity. Beautiful place you have here (the new blog and the new house both!). The idea of losing your blog makes me break out in hives though ... can you share how that happened and any hints you'd have to make sure it doesn't happen again? Oh my gosh. Congratulations on starting over and, as I said, it is beautiful really. (Loved the Anniversary pictures ...we're still hanging on nearing our 56th!
ReplyDeletebj, your home is going to be a lovely place. You are giving it the bj touches. lol! You are way busy, but the decorator in you had to have a little boo! So happy to have you share with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
