...a little SNOW
and more ICE....
Seems we've had one little storm after another...
I know this seems very minor to those of you
that are buried beneath many inches of that cold, icy STUFF...
but, out here in dry West Texas, it seems like a lot.
The streets and highways are dangerous right now...
schools are starting later.
It is supposed to stop snowing tomorrow, with a high of 37 degrees....brrrrr.
and when a girl has to stay inside for the day, she wants to
COOK.
This pkg of NO YOLKS pasta was in the pantry...
(NO CHOLESTEROL)
and a package of extra lean hamburger in the freezer....
After thawing it, I looked up this EASY BEEF STROGANOFF
I found on the NO YOLKS web site.
Oh, my...it sure is beginning to look good.
It's a really great recipe and quick...(especially if your meat is already thawed)
The recipe called for SOUR CREAM....
and, of COURSE, I didn't have any.
So, I googled sub for sour cream and found out I could use PLAIN YOGURT....
Hope all of you are safe...I know there's states that have declared Emergencies ...
Our prayers go up for all of you.
Our prayers go up for all of you.
Stay warm...xo bj
Your weather is coming our way later today! It was 70 here yesterday. CRAZY. Praying the weather is clear there and here tomorrow as our #2 is flying home for break.
ReplyDeleteWe had the ice last week, but now one of the biggest snows Fort Worth has had in awhile. Guess I will stay in my gown another day.
ReplyDeleteWe are stuck in here in OK too. I have cabin fever and want out lol. Beef stroganoff sounds yummy. I think I e gained 10 pounds this week being stuck inside.
ReplyDeleteIt's coming down fast here in Baltimore. I think that it's supposed to go on until 7pm. I've got a pot of ham and bean soup cooking now.. it's gonna be a great day to relax and stay inside. Stay warm and enjoy that stroganoff. yummo.
ReplyDeleteHi BJ, us too with ice, sleet and snow storms. Today in Philly we are getting dumped with snow. Upwards of 8 inches and extreme cold moving in and tomorrow will be -2. Hurry here Spring.
ReplyDeletexoxo
That looks like a yummy recipe, I just might cook that for dinner:) I pray that everyone thaws out really soon! Sending warm hugs your way this morning!

ReplyDeleteYum, you crafty girl...that does look good and sounds healthy even. I hate ice worse than snow....it's is very dangerous.be safe , BJ. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteSnow day here BJ. Yesterday I made chicken noodle soup and it is on the menu again. Your beef stroganoff sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good, BJ! We got hit in Dallas, again, last night. Of course, all of the schools are closed today. Hard to believe that Spring Break is next week. i put on a big pot of red beans and rice; and I'm staying in today! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty yummy, BJ! Comfort food on a cold day.
ReplyDeleteLooks good -- I love those 1950s-like recipes! Starting today we are to have great weather for several days; so maybe it is headed to Lubbock. Take care, Sally
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so... ahahahah... not for you. ME!
ReplyDeleteWeather doesn't want to piss me off this way - we went from 41 to 75 in a matter of couple of days. I'm telling you - it run havoc with everything. Including allergies because trees and flowers bloomed everywhere like crazy. And you come to work wearing winter clothes and then when you're leaving office you think you should've packed the bikini and head to the beach. This is no good. These huge and dramatic changes. I want the change to me smooth - is it too much to ask?!?! So, Dear Weather, spread the heat between me and BJ and everyone will be happy. I will, never mind her ahahahah she can take a dip in that amazing pool ;)
That dish looks awesome. Send some my way, maybe weather improves and no need for fresh salads already ahahah
Take Care. Stay warm (it's weird to say this) and Have Fun,
Teresa
It's been a crazy winter! Hope that you get some relief soon!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Nothing like some great comfort food on a cold, icy day. I'm sure it was delish :)
ReplyDeleteOh I know when I was snowed in a couple days I made orange brownies and ate them all then a pot of soup and ate it all then goulash then finally left the house to go out and eat LOL
ReplyDeleteI am starting to cyke myself up to eat Less
after heavy rains yesterday, it turned to sleet then snow overnight. i'm ready for spring, too!
ReplyDeleteIt is raining here and only 36 degrees. No snow or ice at least not yet. I will have me a bowl of chili and some slaw for lunch. I will work on my puzzle. Stay warm and have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteIt's not even freezing here (yet) and they cancelled school. Austin is weird like that...your dinner looks so good. I have a similar recipe, too. Very tasty and easy. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteLooks delish BJ! We had over 5 inches of snow up here....it's that darn black ice under the snow that's the bad boy! Stay warm!!!
ReplyDeletebj,
ReplyDeleteWe just got almost two feet of snow here! Where's spring!
The recipe looks delicious!
Happy day!
karianne
Your meal looks great BJ! It started snowing here at 6AM and according to my table outside we have at least 7" so far and it should snow for another 4 hours at least... I'll be doing the Irish Jig when spring gets here! Stay warm:@)
ReplyDeleteBJ, I have been griping about NOT having any winter weather but feel so bad for you (but not when you are eating that delicious looking dish) and the one's that are worse off. Who says there is no global warming. It is affecting our side of the nation and also the polar vortex that is affecting other parts, like you. That's the extent of my soapbox..Happy Thursday..Judy
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been really weird here. Two days ago it was snowing and now it's all gone and 50 out.
ReplyDeleteThat stroganoff looks good!
Stay warm, my friend :)
xo,
rue
Stay warm and safe BJ! We had sleet with another 8 inches of snow this morning.
ReplyDeleteRained this morning and turning colder, here in Central Georgia! Brrrrr
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds delish! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
ReplyDeleteWe got the ice, sleet and snow here also - not a good day to be out.
Stay warm and toasty my Texas friend!
ReplyDeleteHope your are getting sun today and melting that ice. We did not get the expected ice ... sunny but really windy and cold. I will take that over the ice any day. Glad you enjoy cooking ... your dinner looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteBe safe.

Easy stroganoff is such a great comfort meal and good for a cold icy day. Stay safe bj.
ReplyDeleteLooks like good warming food for a brrrisk day! Glad that you are staying inside and away from that nasty ice.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I’ll never forget the subtle-but-deadly ice storms that used to sweep through West Texas. Glad to know you’re safe and snug!
ReplyDeletePS – The stroganoff smells delicious! :)
oh that's great! that should warm up EVERYTHING and that mean ol' ice should disappear in no time BJ! We are starting to thaw out here in Ohio....but that's expected ;) Hope this is the last of it for ya!
ReplyDeleteKarla & Karrie
It seem like it will never stop snowing here, I swear Spring will never arrive. We are to get a warm up too...I didn't k now Texas got snow? Hope it evaporates soon and you can be out enjoying beautiful weather again. But winter is a great time to cook, and I do love to cook!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteBe careful with the ice! That stuff messed me up but good many years ago. My ankle hasn't been the same since.
The stroganoff looks very tasty and just right for a winter day!
I can't wait for summer when we all complain about the heat.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm a nice meal for a cold day. Brrrr...on the ice on the pool.
ReplyDeleteI used to make something similar to this years ago....I haven't tried it in years That looks really good, bj.
ReplyDeleteWhat DOESN'T look good is the snow and all that ice you have there. At least here we are expecting it and are prepared for it....but you....well that would be like us having a day with temps over 100. We are usually only high 70's during the warmest part of summer. xo Daina
It's difficult to imagine having a pool still filled with water - around here they are ALWAYS drained usually in early September - or risk problems.
ReplyDeleteWeird weather for sure = the entire country.
Hey pop on by to enter my shamrock themed giveaway = ends mid Friday! So hurry! ♣
Yes, crazy weather we've been having! We had about 5" yesterday and I didn't get to have my baby granddaughter because of the icy roads. Boo hoo!! Your meal looks tasty, BJ. Don't you just love how you can find anything on the Internet?
ReplyDeleteI had to drive to work and there were tons of cars in the ditches! IF they would have just Slowed Down!
ReplyDeleteLove the recipe!
hughugs
You have had an amazing winter BJ! I can't remember when I have seen you blog this many snowfalls since I started following you so many years ago. It's been a bad one all over, except in California. We won't discuss those California girls with their sunshine and winter gardens. *sigh* I love 'em but I admit I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual winter for many of us! It's 41 degrees in TN, and we still have patches of snow. I hope the sun melts all of your snow and ice this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi BJ. I think we are finally in the thawing out stage and I hope that is it. Your meal looks delicious! Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!
