I saw these Flaky Turnovers
at the grocery store
and since I'd not tried them....
I bought them.
O BOY
they are great.
Not as great as a HOMEMADE one, maybe...
♥
but really good.
I generally don't care a lot for cherry pie filling "in a can"...
I use tart cherries, sugar and vanilla and boil gently until thickened.
HOWEVER...
the cherry filling that came with
these little hand pies
is delicious.
♥
They come with the icing and that's a plus...

and a plate of cherry pies is just about the BEST way to start a day.
Some of my blogging friends know that it's not just about the FOOD in my posts....
it's also about the photos.
Photographing food is one of the most challenging of all photographs...
so....
when a photo of my food turns out fairly good (I use my phone camera).
I do the HAPPY DANCE...👍
I also use photo editing and that really helps on the appearance of the photos.
STYLING ANOTHER TIERED TRAY...
If you are on Instagram at all,
you surely have noticed all the gorgeous TIERED TRAYS...
♥
This is my latest one...
so much fun to gather things from around the house
and the first thing you know....
you have a theme...
This one of course is BAKING....
♥
These are so much fun to decorate...

After the pies were gone...
I put the rolling pin away,
rolled up and tied the napkin...
and this is what it looks like today...
sitting on my kitchen counter.
I love it....
If you don't have something CUTE on your counter..
something that makes you happy...
that makes you smile...
I urge you to get creative and
MAKE SOME
KITCHEN HAPPY !!!!

Mmmm, I would love to have one of those hand pies (or turnovers, as we call them in Canada)!
ReplyDeleteLooks so good, it's making me want some with a cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteNow I am hungry!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen counter is CUTE! Those pies look so yummy.
ReplyDeleteI need a stylist...everything around here is a red hot mess!
ReplyDeleteI agree- You need something to make you smile when you look in the kitchen. I smile when I get up in the morning and there aren't dishes left on the counter from someone (else) having a late night snack. You do such a great job, bj, with your phone photos-as good as a lot of people with 'professional' photos. I think you should give a few 'down home' photo lessons to us! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLove the extra touches you give to your baking, and your photos are always so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThose look so yummy! I'll have to try and find them.
ReplyDeleteSniff, sniff. I have no room for cute on my counter too many needed appliances sit there.
ReplyDeleteI love those turnovers and have made them numerous times, never thought of sprinkling sugar and cinnamon on them though. I need to give that a try.
God bless.
