I get hungry for comfort food....
SOUP..
Veggie soup
and since I was cleaning out my freezer,
I found lots and lots of good veggies to go into
a pot of SOUP....
♥ ♥ ♥
Mr. Sweet and I ate a lot of veggies soups over the years...
while we preferred FRESH veggies,
I always like to saute my veggies in butter
until they have a little sear....
it brings out the flavor of all the ingredients
rather than just putting them into a broth.
(oops...I misspelled DICED...)
(oops...I misspelled DICED...)
Then I add the veggies to a sauce pan
and add Beef Broth...
I let it all simmer for awhile and add a bit of salt and pepper
and a few sprinkles of NATURES SEASONING.
Ummm...it was so good and full of flavor...
I wish Mr. Sweet was with me, having a bowl, too.
and if you are lucky enuf to have a few pieces of homemade cornbread in the freezer.......then you are
one step ahead of the game.
XOXO, bj
Sounding, looking . . . dee-lish. . .
ReplyDeleteI wish Mister Sweet was with you enjoying veggie soup too!
That looks so delicious and comforting! I may just have to make a pot of soup after seeing this.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day dear BJ ~ FlowerLady
That sounds good - bring on fall! We have rain in the forecast this week - we need it so badly!
ReplyDeleteI love soup too. Yours looks really good!
ReplyDeleteBJ, Soup is actually something I could eat everyday. I like veggie soups the best. I also love to have a corn muffin with our soups. Makes it more like a meal. I will say, that is a nice looking bowl of soup...wish we were coming to lunch. :):) I follow a young lady named Debbie on Mountain Mama...she is a good soup maker also. She has a wild way of making broths for them too. Visit her some time , she loves gardening too. Blessings to you, love, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteIt's a gloomy day here at the lake and if I had my soup-making stuff, I'd be doing that today! (If we weren't leaving tomorrow I'd go to town and get it all but then I'd have to deal with leftovers and travel.) This looks just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning BJ, Your soup looks yummy and would taste good on this cool rainy day. We have had rain these last few days. I can relate to your feelings as I lost my hubby in March. You catch yourself wanting to talk to them. I am trying to catch up here in blog land and I have enjoyed catching up with you this morning. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend. Shirley
ReplyDeleteI love soup and homemade is such a treat. My Mom makes lots of soup for us especially during cooler weather!
ReplyDeleteI can't stand canned anything.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a good week for soup. Rain is predicted here in NE Texas. Isn't it funny how some small thing will make you miss someone all of the sudden? Every Feb when they start putting out Valentine's Day candy, I long to spend a bit of time with my father who died Feb 6, 1984. We played Black Jack in his hospital room with wrapped Valentines chocolates in red foil that I bought him on the way to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteI'm not in the mood for soup yet, but when My Rare One harvests all the beets from her garden, I foresee a few pots of borscht in my future.
ReplyDeleteThe soup looks delicious. Take care and have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteBJ, your soup looks delicious as does your cornbread. Good idea to freeze some.

Delicious! I love these kinds of soup and soup in general. It's been too long since I've had a good bowl of soup! Happy September to you dear bj!
ReplyDeleteThat is the most beautiful soup I have ever clapped my eyes on!
ReplyDeleteSounds delish! I love to have soup for lunch, even in the summer. Its mostly canned. But during the cold winter months I make a ton of soups and stews...our favorite and a great way to clean out the fridge!
