I went into STARBUCKS and came out with the best drink I've ever had in my whole,
entire LOOONG life....
My lord...how can something that comes in a Styrofoam cup taste THAT GOOD...??
Of course, I nearly choked to death when she said,
"That will be $4.58"
or something like that...
All I remember is that I gave her a five dollar bill and I got mere pennies back...
BUT, the first sip of this luscious liquid made me know I'd buy
another $5.and something latte,
come hell or high water...
come hell or high water...
sooo delicious.
OOO....and this is the SMALL SIZE....
I've already saving up for the LARGE...
OOO....and this is the SMALL SIZE....
I've already saving up for the LARGE...
and pair it with a huge, buttery
ALMOND DANISH BEAR CLAW
and you hit a home run, baby..!
What a delicious treat this was...
a latte...
a bear claw danish...
and I didn't have to cook one single thing..l..woo hoo
THIS delight came from the bakery at our local food market...
fresh as could be...almost still warm...
Now realizing I can't just whip out a fiver
every time I have a craving for a STARBUCKS latte,
I googled to see if there's a good homemade recipe out there on the net..
and, actually, I found a LOT of recipes...
some using the actual pumpkin puree..
and that doesn't sound good to me...
I don't care for pulp of any kind in MY latte...
This one looks pretty good from the net...
and the recipe sounds
fast...
easy...
and using only your microwave...
I'd like it MUCH better served in a Styrofoam cup...
Preferably one that looks like this...
Maybe I can save my empty Starbucks cup...
make a homemade latte and pour it into that used cup...
The danish aren't NEARLY that expensive...
(and I'm trying really hard not to get hooked on

BJ, It's amazing what we pay for coffee or like items . I always say I am a coffee connoisseur of sorts...I may not know the best cup, but by golly and sure know a bad cup. Ewwweee, nothing worse than paying good money for bad coffee. The truth is the best I ever had was at the Indianapolis dinner theater and the cruise ships. I make coffee here and it's pretty good too. I wanted to tell you it's pumpkin ice cream time too. I have to get some soon. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI didn't read this. Will read later. I just saw you emailed. I never check gmail. Guess I should! Yes you can link all your Fall post. The linky is all the way through Oct. 30. It does change every Wed. though.
ReplyDeleteI got a free linky thing so it won't go for the month all in one linky.
Oh dear...there it is...my favorite...a bear claw!! This one looks perfect, too. My name is Ellen and I'm a food aholic...
ReplyDeleteIt looks lush.
ReplyDeleteKeep saving up for that coffee. It looks and sounds delicious. Have a blessed day and a wonderful weekend. Madeline
ReplyDeleteOh my, a trip to Star Bucks is happening soon!
ReplyDeleteAnd that is why I am avoiding this yummy sounding beverage like the plague. It sounds way too addicting and it would be a nightmare for my pocketbook. I'll check on the homemade recipe.
ReplyDeleteMy grandson has that pulp aversion going on. I served him some pink lemonade, the good stuff from Paul Newman, the no fructose kind, and he couldn't drink it because of the pulp.
That bear claw...okay, that is just something else!
You have me at the bear claw, BJ. I'm not a coffee fan, but my husband is and he can hardly pass a Starbucks without a fix. They really make a great hot chocolate that I get sometimes. But really, their prices are outrageous! Have a nice weekend. ♥
ReplyDeleteIt does sound amazing! I make coffee drinks at home and they are always good. I had a cold coffee drink after dinner tonight...cold coffee, a little milk, sugar free chocolate syrup and a little Truvia. No sugar and very yummy for a treat! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy! We live too far from the Starbucks, so I am never able to get anything to drink for breakfast. Nothing like that sounds good after that. But that bear claw...oh yeah...that looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteUp here in the Pacific Northwest there is a Starbucks on just about every corner. There are 3 within a block and a half of my office. We call your newly discovered favourite a "PSL"!

ReplyDeleteBJ,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!
I make my own coffee at home because spending that much money on coffee just makes no sense to me...
It sounds good though!
Hugs,
Debbie
I had a Starbucks pumpkin latte once but I do not think it was made right becaus it was nasty! I need to go give it another shot. I have a cup of fresh coffee from my kitchen every morning but its fun to splurg on a fancy made latte every now and again.

I remember seeing a copycat recipe for the pumpkin spice latte, probably very much like the one you shared - thank you :) I also saw a copycat recipe for the lemon cake but now if only that bear claw had one ;)
ReplyDeleteI have heard that the pumpkin spice latte is excellent. Just glad that we do not have a Starbucks here in my small city.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
You know, I have NEVER tried a pumpkin spice latte. I think this may be the year to do so!
ReplyDeleteI love them. I am a gold card member so you get a free latte on your birthday, and earns stars (points) everytime you make a purchase.
ReplyDeleteI have not had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season......yet.....but I WILL!!!
ReplyDeletePaying that much for a cup of coffee makes a bottle of wine for about the same price sound like a real bargain!!! And that's for a whole EVENING of drinks!!! Just saying.....
You make it sound quite delicious! I'm not sure if I'll do it or not. It is a good way to use my swagbucks.
ReplyDeletePlease drop by and say hello!

on a short shoestring budget!

I've always had champagne taste on a Kool-aid budget. . . . it's quite lovely having treats that you don't have to cook and your latte and pastry look delicious!
ReplyDeleteI got my hubby started on Lattes on our last trip to Florida! He was really sleepy so I encouraged him to drink a Starbuck mocha and he had so much energy he thought he could drive forever! They are sooo good. Have a wonderful weekend! The bear claw looks delicious also. I will have to try the pumpkin one.
ReplyDeleteA Woo Hoo day on all counts . . .
ReplyDeleteThe danish looks so good! Glad you enjoyed your drink too♥ Happy Saturday, BJ♥

That latte may be good -- but Starbucks' lemon loaf? OMG! It's to die for!
ReplyDeleteHard to beat a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. I have a Pixie Nespresso, so I make mine at home! Sounds like you had yourself a little party! Happy weekend, Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a Starbucks girl. I'm cheap! I like the homemade version! This was fun as always!
ReplyDeleteNice treat bj ... and the pastry looks so good. Love the shadow shot. I pass Starbucks quite often, but never tempted to stop for a Latte. They must be good. Now to stop for lemon loaf may be different.
ReplyDeleteLovely sunlight shadow shots and delightful latte and food ~
ReplyDeleteWishing you happy days ~ ^_^
You must try their salted caramel mocha! OH MY GOSH ------------
ReplyDeleteThe bear claw looks quite tasty too. Glad you were able to enjoy both today!
Yum on the bear claw. I am not a coffee drinker but I do like their vanilla Chai Tea when the seasons start to change. The Pumpkin Spice Latte sounds so good. Life is short enjoy!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
Starbucks doesn't seem to be a great value - but the coffee in any style (and I like their strong coffee varieties) is good. The bear claw has just the sweetness to complement all their offer styles...
ReplyDeleteDaisy always goes for the large cup.
ReplyDeleteThose Latte's are "da bomb" aren't they? I always used to get the small thinking I was being economical, but then I realized the medium is only a few pennies more and well worth it. I always ask for half the flavoring or it's too sweet for me. I had a salted caramel mocha yesterday and about died from happiness. So good!
ReplyDeleteLove pumpkin Lattes !!!! Dunkin Donut has them too atleast they offer free & $.99 coupons for a much bigger cup ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Bj, it is amazing how much it costs to get these coffees. I love the pumpkin that Keurig sells. I stock pile it, very addicting. I have seen recipes for these on Pinterest.
