...what IS that...?

I've shown photos of the metal
PINK FLAMINGOS
Kathy has put out by the pool
to give her grandkids a laugh...
During the wintertime, they had white caps on their little pink heads...
and
blue bow scarfs around their necks...

...and at Christmas time, they were all lit up with
strands of Christmas lights...

well, when I was taking the following photos of my fast-growing plant this morning,

I saw something pink floating in the pool...

I thought at first it was one of the metal flamingos....

but then I could see it wasn't one of the metal birds guarding the pool..
what was it...?

a flamingo patio rug ....

Our high winds blew the little rug right into the pretty blue water...
it's backwards in the pool...the bird is PINK on the right side...
hahhaa....how funny

so now...
the FLAMINGOS are swimming...
gotta just love it....
never a dull moment when there's a swimming pool and wind mixed...

some of you may remember what else around here

ended up in the pool...

 XOXO, bj

  1. Oh, too funny. We had an umbrella on our deck get picked up by high winds years ago...downside, it smashed the glass table it was attached to.

  5. I love pink flamingo's and used to have quite a few, but over the years the broke and went into the trash cans.

Your flamingo's are so pretty and I do love the rug even though it is in the pool. Hope the wind has stopped so you can enjoy the pool.

    Have a great weekend.

    Hugs,
    Mary

  6. Flamingos and swimming pools just seem to go together.....though a little less togetherness might be in order for the rug, table and umbrella!

  8. It is a wonder the pelican did not blow completely away with those West Texas winds. We have really been having some here. I enjoyed scrolling through your family shots.

  17. Good morning bj, We woke up to 45 degree weather this morning. Lots of sunshine and a beautiful day. You never know in the mountains what the weather will be. However, the wind in Texas must be quite fierce to throw things in the pool.

I love the Flamingo and the fun you have with his winter clothing on. One time when we were traveling out West we passed a big 2 acre field that had over a hundred pink flamingos stuck in the ground. We will never know why. HA! When we lived in FL we enjoyed live Flamingos who lived in the middle of the Hialeah Race Track not far from our home. They are beautiful.

    Have a great weekend.

  20. So cute! Flamingos which change their "look" with the season.

Oh, good the wind only took a mat, this time. The whole table, was more of "an issue." -grin-

  22. Strong winds you've been having to whip that patio table in the pool!
I like the decorated flamingoes . . . they fit in perfectly with your pool.
Flamingoes wouldn't look as good here in Michigan though . . .
I would need to dress up a polar bear.
It is ridiculously COLD here and WINDY too!

  23. Love the festive flamingos. We don't have many here in eastern Canada.

    I'll be back!

  24. You'd better tie yourself off with a rope when you go out in the yard! Little peanut like you would blow into the pool with the first gust of wind.

  25. Oooooh, noooo! I bet it wasn't easy getting that table & umbrella out of the pool!
I laughed at the floating rug though....shades of a "magic carpet ride" came to mind.
I think we have your wind here today...with added RAIN...WOWZERS!! Hold onto your hat

  26. Oh my, the wind must have been howling! It's so windy here today, I'm worried we will have something strange in there too! Cute flamingos!

  27. I can't resist pink flamingoes! Love them! And love every one of these!

  28. Never a dull moment around your house. We lived in Abilene and I remember all so well, the strong winds, dust and tumbleweeds. Our weather here in the Texas hill country has been unusual ... good rain and storms. Storm missed us today ... did not need the hail and strong winds. Love how your plants are growing in you house. So refreshing. Have a great Sunday.
    Hugs,

  29. I love how she decorates the flamingos!! I'm sure you have to enjoy that!! Oh my!! We had strong winds a couple of days ago but nothing bad enough to put a table in a pool!! Wow!

Hope you are having a great weekend!! It's coldish in KC....50s yesterday and low 60s today. Rain will start tonight and stick around thru Tues. We've had a LOT of rain, so it's time for it to stay away a few days already!!

    HPS!! L, Dana

  33. A great weekend to you and yours, dear Lady... we have been dealing with Too many "issues" this week..

  34. The winds wreck havoc there! We can get some pretty fierce winds at times too--once an entire tree in our yard blew over. I'm sure on quiet days that pool is lovely to float in, bj. Enjoy it!

  35. Lots of Pink Flamingo fun here and a few (not so fun) things ending up in the pool. I enjoyed your post.
