Here it is time for another round of fencing....
TEX sure keeps this city girl hopping around, trying to find fences
or gates, worthy of her awesome weekly
"There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading.
The few who learn by observation.
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves. "
Will Rogers

"There's only one thing I never did and wish I had done...
climb over a fence."
"We need to know who's in the United States.
We need to know everyone who's in the United States
that comes here from a foreign country.
And, we have to separate the ones who are dangerous from the ones who aren't.
To accomplish that, we need a fence.
We need a TECHNOLOGICAL fence.
WE NEED A BORDER PATROL.
Mr. Rudy Giuliani

"How well I have learned that there's no fence to sit on between
heaven and hell.
There is a deep, wide gulf, a chasm, and in that chasm is no place for any man."
Mr. Johnny Cash

You can't see it, but my mom and I, sitting on a fence,
watching a cattle branding
a long long long time ago...
"I'd give anything to have one last day on the fence with my mama."

Did you ever say this, in a sing-song voice,
when someone snitched on ya......?
We did...
What pretty fences! Thank you for sharing them and I enjoyed the sayings too. Have a wonderful day!

Cute post, BJ! I enjoyed the variety of fences and gates.. And the shot of you and your mom is awesome.. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great fences. Love the photo of you and your mom. I often wish my mom could be here to walk the yard with me. We always did that in the springtime, to take plant inventory, to see what survived the winter. Keep finding fences, bj. These are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of you and your Mom on the fence is so precious. You are so lucky to have had such a wonderful mother!! Love all your fences-so cool! We sang- Tattle-tale- Tattle-tale. Hanging on the bull's tail When the bull begins to pee- Then you'll have a cup of tea! lol
ReplyDeleteEven in the city there are incredible fences, as you have found. I love your memories of fence rhymes, etc.
ReplyDeleteI like them all, but that first is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou really found some nice ones today. I am sure there are plenty such around here, just I do not get on that side of town. The best are the memories.

You are so like your Mum. Great fences in this post
ReplyDeleteBJ,
ReplyDeleteLove your quotes, love your fences, love you and everything you do.
Vera
What a treasure, you and your Mum. And electric fences, we had them on the farm when I was a child and teenager, I remember testing them with a blade of grass , and also when a "city' friend and her brother came to stay, he didn't know anything about them, and went to hop over, holding it down with his hand!!! He was too quick for me to tell him it was live. Your fences are stunning.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of you and your mother! The fence with hearts is my favorite, and I like that Johnny Cash quote--true! Johnny Cash had such a good voice!
ReplyDeleteI read all of this aloud to John and we enjoyed it immensely. Loved the quotes. I am also snickering at dirty hairy. What a piece of work!
ReplyDeleteVery enjoyable post. Great fences and great quotes. I loved seeing you & your mom on the fence and that little rhyme was so cute. Would you believe I've never heard it until today.
ReplyDeleteHi BJ,
ReplyDeleteLoved the very nice fences in this post!
And, seeing photos of you taken at different points in your life.
Your mother has on some cool jeans - not sure what kind they are, but they do look very nice.
Thanks for stopping by my site.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
I liked seeing the picture of you and your Mom sitting on the fence together. Wouldn't it have been nice to know how much we needed to absorb as many of those kinds of moments into our hearts as we could at the time, so that we could go back to retrieve them, at least in our minds, when we get to missing our Moms.
ReplyDeleteYou have some interesting fences where you live. I always wanted to have a white picket fence around our front yard, but our municipality does not allow fences in the front yard.
That's a wonderful photo of you and your mum, so relaxed. So kind of you to give Queen Mary a fence :) and a pretty fence to go with it.
ReplyDeleteDiana
I meant to say that it was kind of you to give Queen Mary a gate.....
DeleteWill Rogers was a brilliant man, I heard that quote awhile back. One of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post BJ. The quote from Will Rogers made me laugh out loud. You and your Mom looked like you had a great day that day. What a great photo to remember her with.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty fences and I loved the quotes. Some people just say it like it is... like Will Rogers. He was honest and spoke straight from the hip.
ReplyDeletelot's of beautiful fences and gates. i like the scrolls that form hearts!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat fence pics bj . . .
