Here we are...
after another blessed and wonderful Christmas, full of love and cheer and happy.
Not long now until we all can jump-start right into a brand, spanking new year.
But before we get into that NEW YEAR, I'd like to share a bit of our
family time during Christmas season.
I know a lot of you didn't have time to share as much of your CHRISTMAS
as you would have liked, so PLEASE, do share with us all.

5 of our beautiful grandgirls and I had a
CHRISTMAS COOKIE BAKE-OFF the eve of CHRISTMAS EVE.
We gathered up all the ingredients we could think of...
Our MENU OF COOKIES:
sugar cookies, iced
peanut butter blossoms
and
rolo pretzels
Deeds and big sis, Brynna,
rolling and cutting and being serious about the whole thing.
These two beauties belong to our daughter, STACY LEIGH.
♥
♥
I mean, we had flour flying..
cookie cutters cutting...
and Christmas music flowing all around.
"O, what fun we had"
This butter/sugar cookie recipe is really great tasting and
♥
these girls made some awesomely cute cookies, too.
As a matter of fact, I think they outdid themselves...
here's just a few of their masterpieces....
and notice the little angel with her little pink tongue hanging out on the side..hahhaa..
gotta love it.
Laughin' and lovin' and being together has GOT to be
one of the TOP BLESSINGS of all time..!!
♥
Just about this time...3 more beautiful grands arrived,
shirt sleeves rolled up and ready to go....
Grandad, aka, Mr. Sweet, was standing by with the camera..
I saw him snitch a cookie or two while he was at it....
That's LACEY JEAN
on the left...
she's 21 and such a beauty.
I was so glad she came along for the fun.
Some of our pictures are better than others....
but every single one of them is precious to me.
This is BAILEY, with that cute smile.....Chef Santa watching to make sure we are

ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I remember one year my MIL came to visit for Christmas after my FIL passed away, she and the girls decided to make cookies together. Mark and I were told to go out and have fun for the day (or finish our shopping). We called home SEVERAL hours later to be told not to come home yet. Found out later that the kitchen looked like it had snowed indoors! LOL Great memories.

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't get any better than baking with the grands and having a wonderful time together. Someone else blogged about baking with grands and pointed out one of them texting while working away and I noticed one of your gals on her phone. :-) The difference in generations, I ignore the phone when the flour and baking pans are out!

Oh what precious memories. You have a beautiful phamily. Those cookies look delightful. One of the best memories I have had was my niece Chelsea coming over (she lives in Oregon) and "trying" to make some sLOVEnian goodies with me. I gave her several sLOVEnian cookbooks too. It was a delightful time. Happy New Year to you and yours. You have way too much fun! I'm coming over.......
ReplyDeleteSweet Christmas memories!
ReplyDeleteLovely gals and yumdelish looking goodies too. Happy New Year to you! I wanted to reach out to each of you, and say thank you for giving me such a beautiful friendship across many miles. It has been a difficult month for me. If I sit to use the desktop, within a minute, or two the nerve compression pain begins. If I lie down, and prop up my laptop, which is very slow to run, as I am doing now, I have pain relief. Thus said, I am going to copy and paste this message to you wonderful people who encourage me to keep moving forward in this amazing blog world, otherwise, I would not be able to greet each of you at this time. I cannot tell you enough, what having you as friends has done for me...just wonderful blessings! Hugs from afar~ Mary
ReplyDeleteHi BJ,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday, but then I missed my son's day too! Sorry that it took me so long to comment, but I’m home from the hospital now and using a new laptop.
Thanks for your good wishes.
Happy Blue Monday!
