ya gotta love 'em
"I think we've taken the meaning of Christmas out. People don't stop and think about Jesus or the birth of Jesus.
When they think of Christmas, they think of Santa Claus and -for the children,
and they think of giving gifts and out-giving the next person of spending the time looking for the right thing for somebody who has everything."
BILLY GRAHAM
I've wanted a plaid Santa forever...
I try to get a new Santa every now and then...
not EVERY Christmas, tho.
Well, I was at TARGET this last week and there was the cutest little Santa Fella,
all dressed in the BEST plaid...
now, he is much smaller than I really wanted but so cute, and ON SALE,
so I just brought him right along home with me...
I mean, hey...if I find a larger one this cute, nothing wrong with having
TWO or THREE PLAID SANTAS.
and, if ever I see a GREEN plaid Santa, he will be adopted, too.
WINNIE the POOH:
(after he goes personally to take a letter to SANTA but the wind blows it away)
"Please come back ! I'm supposed to take you to SANTA."
Dorothy: " Weren't you frightened?"
Wizard of OZ: " Frightened? Child, you're talking to a man who's laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom, and chuckled at catastrophe... I was petrified."
"I stopped believing in SANTA CLAUS when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph."
Shirley Temple
...get a little light on the subject
I still love my turquoise kitchen tree..
very tiny..
silver ornies...
brings smiles...

Love him! Perfect for your home.
ReplyDeleteBJ I would have brought him home with me too! He is so cute! I am always on the lookout for snowmen and snow-women. That way I can keep them up until the end of February. I heard some ladies complaining about the Christmas Season beginning so early now that by the time the BIG day is here, they are tired of it. Not me! I think we should be able to keep our decor up through January!! XXDazee

A long time ago, Santa's traditional color wasn't red, but green. Seems the reason it got changed was because of Coca-Cola.
ReplyDeleteBJ your home looks so beautiful. Love your new santa :-)
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable! Maybe I need to stop by Target. '-)
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white framed mirror in the background and the lamp shade. Where did you find a black and white check lamp shade?

ReplyDeleteBJ, I love your quote! That is why I love listening to most Christmas songs - it brings the spirit of Christ into Christmas not just Santa.
ReplyDeleteYour plaid fellow is really cute! I have the same All Is Calm pillow - new this year and I love it! Have a wonderful week before Christmas!!
These pictures make me want to run to the kitchen for a big old cup of cocoa ... or better, hot toddy.
ReplyDeleteLove your lil turquoise tree and 'new' Mr. Claus looks right at home sitting there like he owns the place. :) Have a beautiful new week, my friend!
The plaid on the Santa is so adorable! Loved your Christmas pictures.

ReplyDeleteLove your new plaid Santa -- he looks really sweet next to your aqua tree (which I LOVE)! Funny about Shirley Temple!
ReplyDeleteHey BJ,
ReplyDeleteI like your little blue tree, and I LOVE the Billy Graham quote. However, your Santa post conflicts with the quote! (YIKES!)
Thanks for playing today.
Happy Blue Monday!
B.J. Would you please email me at cottagemakingmommy@yahoo.com. I got your message on google + but I couldn't email you back. P.S. everything looks gorgeous and I would so love some peppermint bark.
ReplyDeleteYour home is full of Christmas cheer! I love it. No green plaid Santa though PUHleeze! It must be red... In peppermint or in Santa suits!
ReplyDeleteLove that plaid Santa! Oh my eyes grow wide if I find a new Santa! Hee Hee! But my true Christmas love will always be the Nativity. I have several and I love each one. Snowmen too. Oh heck, I might as well be totally honest. I just love Christmas plain and simple. Love your kitchen tree too. Sweetness. Hugs, Anne
ReplyDeletebj,
ReplyDeleteMy hubby was telling me this morning how he reads all the time how our government is trying to take more and more freedom away. Now he says they are trying to take away any use of the word Santa. I suppose they are trying to do away with Christmas all together.
I love your Santa and wish you a very Merry Christmas! xoxo
Ho Ho Ho what an adorable Santa you found and even better a bargain! Love your trendy tree :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas
