Good Morning, Everyone...
♥ ♥ ♥
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
♥ ♥ ♥
Peppermint candy has always been a favorite.
My Aunt Lillian, a nurse, always had a bowl of peppermints....
If your throat was sore..."have a peppermint"
♥ ♥ ♥
♥ ♥ ♥
...if your tummy was upset...
"have a peppermint"
♥ ♥ ♥
if you fell down and had a skinned knee...
"a peppermint will make it all better"
♥ ♥ ♥
Peppermint Bark
white chocolate and broken peppermint candies
♥ ♥ ♥
....just a little fun in PHOTOSCAPE Photo Editing ♥
♥ ♥ ♥
If you have a SONIC DRIVE-INN,
you may have a supply of peppermints like I do
since they put a couple in the bottom of the to-go sack.
♥ ♥ ♥
I SAVE EVERY ONE OF THEM....
These glass canisters were just MADE for peppermints....
AND...
they weren't always the BEAUTIES they are now...
Once they were just PLAIN JANES..just like these brown ones...
(my aunt lillian had these ...wish i had hers)
..see how cute you can make
THESE numbered ones.
..see how cute you can make
THESE numbered ones.
GO HERE to see her cute ones.
Mine started out boring and became
MACKENZIE*CHILDS look-alikes...
all thru the talented and generous PATTI.
So, if you should be lucky enuf to find a set of these vintage canisters...
(i used to see them at the thrift stores ALL THE TIME...never see them anymore)
and they are a tad...PLAIN and.....BORING in their brown state...
BUY THOSE BUGGERS and use your imagination and make them a STATEMENT...
and, if you like PEPPERMINTS...
they will look great in your "new" old canisters...:)
I don't see any "preview"., bj. Those covers are just darling. Patti is so talented, isn't she? My mother kept Watkins Peppermint ( I think it used to be called Pain Cain?) anyway-no matter what ailed you she would plog a dollop of that in water, add a teaspoon full of sugar and it was our "cure all for what ails you". lol
ReplyDeleteMy gramma used to carry those round pink wintergreen candies around in her pocket and dole them out to "make you feel better". lol GREAT post! xo Diana
Oh BJ, you make me smile :) Thank you for another charming post. Hugs to you, dear one!
ReplyDeleteHi BJ! What a beautiful and happy post! Great photos of Christmas merriment! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post, BJ! We keep peppermints out year 'round, as well! My girls love the soft ones that just melt in your mouth. Your photos just made me smile!
ReplyDeleteI too love peppermints keep a bowl of them all year long. I really like the tops to our canister set. I used to have some with plain brown lids but gave them to the salvation army now I wish I had them back so I could do something like you did. Oh well live and learn. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeletemaybe once a year i'll go to a sonic. i save the peppermints for my gelding. zim loves them. gem won't touch them. :)

Beautiful post and peppermints are just the right color and candy for Christmas. I save my candy from Sconic till I have a jar full. Peppermint bark is a fav also!
ReplyDeleteWell, those buggers look great....and we had the pink peppermints....for the same reasons!!
ReplyDeletePatti sure did a fabulous job on those canisters! Love peppermints and I use to keep a little candy dish filled with them. Some how I stopped doing that but I think this is just the season to find that dish and fill it. Love your photoscape fun, and all your photos are gorgeous. Enjoy the season......Hugs
ReplyDeleteWonderful christmas ornaments, beautiful compositions !!
ReplyDeleteI often stop by a Sonic for their cherry cokes! Love 'em. I agree that peppermints help with sore throats...coughing, too! Cute post!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely christmas post and I,love your decorations. All gorgeous. Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteLove those pretty canisters, bj, and your cute editing with your photo. Of course, you making me smile is always the best!!
ReplyDeleteI love peppermints too, especially those fat soft ones that kind of melt in your mouth. Mmmmm! The fact that they are red and white is just a bonus :>)
ReplyDeleteI love peppermint! Those red knobs on your jars are really fun BJ:@)
ReplyDeleteOMG...I have a set of those from my grandmothers house...they are in storage...BUT they will be rescued...I didn't know what to do with them, they were so boring...now I do.....Thanks so much for idea and I do love peppermint.....in fact I made sugar peppermint cookies over the weekend.....
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful fun post. I do not know why our Sonic doesn't have peppermints??? Will have to investigate. Love those canisters.
ReplyDeleteVery fun! Love all your peppermints. We don't have a Sonic within 70 miles, but that's life! Love your stripes!
ReplyDeleteRuth
Those are so pretty! My mother loves peppermints, too.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like peppermints, and I never really go to Sonic either. I usually get my food to-go, but I never really liked their drive-in thing. Especially when the workers just walk to your car. Where are the roller skates?
ReplyDeleteOh, gosh, BJ, I used to have some of these. Why weren't we smart then like we are now??!!..Love all your peppermints and the made over canisters..Happy Monday..Judy
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother kept a candy jar of pepper mints that were shaped like pillows ... Long and narrow. I loved those! Never see them any more. The round ones are OK though. As long as they are red and white. Our favorite Mexican Reataurant in Oregon gives you green and white ones. Those are disgusting!
ReplyDeleteBJ You always make me smile! I have been on the lookout for those kind of glass canisters for along time, but no luck yet. They always seem to be missing the lids. Your "McKenzie Childs" ones are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe cannister transformation is amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy wish for you is a holiday season filled with peace, joy and love.
Happiness an health to you and yours in the new year!
oh gosh....I love peppermint too....this is just as cute as can be!
ReplyDeleteI like peppermint, but not as much as chocolate. I remember the peppermints that had a soft center....those were really good.
ReplyDeletePeppermint cheers things up just a bit whether in taste or sight!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying my visits to your blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!
