Bits and Bob of Autumn

Fall is trying hard to get to West Texas...
a little summer, like green grass and a few flowers hanging on,
but cool mornings...
cool nights...
and pumpkins filling all the grocery stores,
tell me,
IT'S FALL...
 so many bloggers are posting
FALL....
and because it's near IMPOSSIBLE
to do a fall post
without a pumpkin....

I hit the super market for LITTLE ones...
and spent nearly an hour finding ones with
 1st CLASS STEMS....

and the sweetest grocery sacker boy helped me pick out some
WINNERS...
♥ ♥ ♥

This stem affair is an absolute work of art...
all those curly Q's just make me so happy..

...aren't they doozies !!!
♥ ♥ ♥
Because I am refusing to pull out bins of Autumn decor,
I shopped my house...
my yard...
my flower garden...
even my ALLEY...
yep....

I got a little texture going...
♥ ♥ ♥

added a tiny bit of
candle light...

my pumpkin with the HE MAN STEM.....

This pretty little white crocheted one that KITTY sent me a few years back
is kept in my house....not in storage bins...
"KITTY...over the years, I lost the little stem you had in it
so I had to make another.
I even put a few grape-vine curly-q's on it. 😍"

 ♥ ♥ ♥
..and what would an Autumn setting be without
TREATS....!!
Some of my favorite candies...
fresh Peanut Brittle sent to me from my darling friend, LV...
Orange slices that I can eat til the cows come home...
Maple Leaf Cookies that I have no doubt whatsoever
that Angels serve these in Heaven...

This post was such fun to put together...

mainly because only $4.50 was spent for those adorable pumpkins....

I had the candy and cookies....

OOPS...
I almost forgot to point out to you what I got out of the yard and the alley....

Pine cones from under pine trees at the entrance of our addition...
Amazing grass, growing tall, in an alley...

Well...I DID buy a bag of these delicious oranges
when I bought the little pumpkins....

and...grape leaves from the tiny grape vine in a corner of the yard.

  1. Those pumpkin tops are lovely. For pumpkins I'm with you, the more rustic the better! One blogger posted about saving the pumpkin stems and using them for faux pumpkins to make them look better. Hers were realistic looking with the real stems added. Sorry, it was a few years ago so don't remember the post info.

  4. Those pumpkin stems are adorable! I bought mine directly from the farm and they didn't have any fancy stems at all. Now that you have educated me, I'll be looking for something a little more with it!

  11. I love the stems on the pumpkins you bought. I need to look for some like that, they have character! I love orange slices! It was my favorite candy to buy from the Sears candy counter when I was growing up. Now I want some, where do you buy yours? I've never had a maple cookie but now I want to try one. You have just added a bunch of calories to my diet my friend!!

  23. Your blog is so pretty today with all of the orange. And how clever of you to spend time focusing on the stems of the pumpkins! They really are a work of art all by themselves!

So sorry but I have no other choice.
I love my blogging friends and most of all my family but these spam prone people are so rude and selfish have made my blogging not nearly as much fun..
