2010 movie about the schoolhouse shooting of 10 Amish children in
Nickle Mines, Pennsylvania in 2006
I just saw this movie for the second time and was reminded, once again,
of how important faith, understanding, forgiveness, love and grace is to each of us as
children of GOD.
If you've seen the movie, I urge you to see it again.
If you haven't seen it, I plead with you to see it.
The love and forgiveness in this story is so heart rendering,
I hope no one goes without knowing the story and watching the excellent movie.
Love, bj

Thank you, I will make this a must see.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't surprise me too much, they are well known for tolerating the worst in people, at least the non-Amish.
ReplyDeleteThe Amish community certainly displayed a lot of love and grace in an intolerable situation. If I have the opportunity to see it, I surely will.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of this, I will b looking for it. Thank you for the recommendation :)
ReplyDeleteThis happened in our area. It was the most heart wrenching thing!!! Then, the love, and forgiveness the families of those little girls showed to the family of the shooter was unbelievable. I will try to get the movie!
ReplyDeleteI'll watch for it! The Amish are an impressive people in their own way.
ReplyDeleteI have seen this movie a couple of times myself. You are right bj...as I was watching it and saw how they forgave was quite amazing to me. No matter whether we believe everything they do or not (I've never understood the shunning thing...where is the grace there?) it certainly was quite unbelievable how they were able to do that.
ReplyDeleteI don;t know anything about the Amish...and not to judge.
DeleteSounds interesting, BJ. I'll have to look into it. Are you planning to see 'Risen'. I believe it opens this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right BJ. I have seen the movie about 3 times and I noticed that it came on again this morning.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week BJ
Hugs,
Mary
I remember the news about the horror of the event and how the Amish so graciously forgave, and helped his family. I don't know if I could watch the movie. I'm sure I'd weep through it.

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it, but I will now. Such a sad thing to have happened. Hope your Valentines Day was a good one!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it but will keep my eye out . . . I read a lot of books bases on the Amish. There is such a refreshing bliss to their simple life.
ReplyDeleteNo truer words BJ, forgiveness is the key to everything.

ReplyDeleteI tried to deal with the concept of forgiveness in my latest book, and it is so healing. I have seen this movie, but it's been a while. May find it again.
