As far as I'm concerned THIS is what ANGELS in Heaven eat...
STRAWBERRIES & CREAM
Strawberry FreeZer Jam
is one of my favorite jams...
...fresh strawberries
...freezer jam fruit pectin
...Kerr freezer jars
This is a NO COOK
jam that is so easy, it almost can't be called a RECIPE.
I didn't know about freezer jars until I checked out how to make the freezer jam.
This jam has nothing but the pectin, strawberries and sugar
so each jar is like picking fresh strawberries right out of the garden.
OK....since Strawberries are so good for ya....
"LET GO of my EGGO"
I don't do this often....
a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.....
bj, oh gosh those strawberries are gorgeous! I hope to plant strawberries next year. :-)
ReplyDeletegood thing i already had about 6 fresh strawberries this afternoon. :)
ReplyDeleteOh looks yummy. I've never made jelly. But I really only like grape. But I love strawberries. Have a good Friday.

ReplyDeleteWe have awhile to wait, but seeing this makes me think I'll settle for those mashed frozen things.
ReplyDeleteHeaven indeed! Those strawberries look scrumptious! I've never made jelly either, but would love to try!
ReplyDeleteThey look so good! I have made strawberry jam, but haven't tried the freezer jars....yet!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, yes! I love strawberry freezer jam and our strawberry patch is filled with blossoms. Strawberry season is almost here, as long as we can keep the chipmunks out of them!
ReplyDeleteBJ, that looks like a great little breakfast. I love that recipe...so simple. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOooh, YUM. I'm keeping an eye on the berries in my garden. They are starting to show a little color. I can hardly wait for their sweet juiciness!
ReplyDeleteGood evening BJ,
ReplyDeleteTonight food shopping we picked up the prettiest large organic strawberries. Love strawberries and have never tried making jam with them, I just may try your recipe. Yup the Angels eat Strawberries and cream on top of Angel food cake for sure!
xoxo,
Vera
The strawberry freezer jam sounds like it would be delicious. Do you know if it can be made with Splenda instead of sugar? Or would that make it not set up right?
ReplyDeleteI think it is quite possible that angels do eat strawberries and cream. This time of year the strawberries are so good.
My grandma lived in the country and had a huge patch of strawberries on the hill above their root cellar. When strawberries were in season she always made sure to have strawberries (from her patch) and whipping cream (from their milk cows) when we went to visit. I don't remember having any shortcake or waffles with the strawberries and whipping cream, but maybe she had shortcake with it and I just ate the strawberries and whipped cream.
Now I am a grandma, and even though my strawberries are from the grocery store and so is the cream (that I whip), I try to fix it for my little grandson every time I can when strawberries are in season. I hope that when he is old enough to be a grandpa, he, too, will remember having strawberries and whipping cream at grandma's house.
This looks so great and I would love to make some to freeze this summer, but I don't see a link (but my eyes aren't what they used to be!). Can you pass it on? Lovely photos!

Wow! Beautiful strawberries! Love them to eat. Love your header picture!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry Jam is my favorite, I made strawberry freezer jam quite a few years ago, now that I have an extra little freezer we keep out in the garage I might have to go back to making my own again :)
ReplyDeleteI know they eat them because just looking at the strawberries is heaven:) I wanted to stop by bj to thank you for praying for me, I'm doing better every day. Today I have a doctor's appt., one of many! I'm hoping to get the go ahead to do some sort of exercise, maybe walking?
ReplyDeleteAgain thank you so much for even thinking of me!
Rondell♥
Fresh berries are one of my favorite parts of spring. Our strawberry patch is full of green berries and I cannot wait for them to turn red!
ReplyDeleteI love strawberries. Your photos are great. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteThat looks delicious! Did you go somewhere and pick strawberries or did you get them at the store or farmer's market. I wish I would have known this 2 weeks ago when I saw a strawberry sale - but - I didn't have time then, anyway. Isn't that the way life works. But frozen jam might have a fresher better taste?
ReplyDeleteLove freezer jam! Now I've learned something new, that there are freezer jars! Have a wonderful weekend bj!
ReplyDeleteFresh fruit...
ReplyDeleteDeeeeeeelicious...
:-)
Yum! Your breakfast looks and sounds so much better than what I am having. LOL
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend!
That really is a great idea!!! I wonder if I can do it with blueberries?
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm glad that I'm about to run out for lunch b/c you have me hungry again. haha
This looks amazing! I was just thinking about making jam the other day, to save all the sweetness of the strawberries, to enjoy them longer! Great idea, Bj! Going to give this a try! Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteChristine
We fixed a little raised bed in the garden last year and planted strawberries. Hope they produce well this year, I'm hungry for some strawberries! Especially after seeing your delightful photos! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to work in a produce department, I'd always hate the strawberries. A lot of them would mold, especially at the bottom. We'd get hundreds of packages, it would often be annoying.
ReplyDeleteFresh Strawberries will be ready here in no time. I must make some freezer jam . . .
ReplyDeleteThanks for the teaser!
When I read every post I always wish I lived next door to you!!! YOu make the BEST stuff!!! Have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteStrawberry jam is my absolutely favorite. And I always get the entire jar because my hubs is horrifically allergic to them! My sister in law and her mother made some last year and gave me two jars for Christmas =- they were gone in NO TIME at all!
ReplyDeleteYou have my mouth watering, yum yum.
Mm mm the strawberry freezer jam looks so tasty, bj. I've made some in the past. There's nothing like homemade jam on my morning toast!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you and Mr. Sweet!
A feast for the eyes and the tummy! HPS!
ReplyDeleteyum. You make me want to go out and pick strawberries!! I planted some in my window boxes but they haven't flowered yet. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteTemptations...be kind to me:)
ReplyDeleteI love strawberries too!
That looks delicious BJ! Thank you for joining Home Sweet Home!
