Mooooo................

Hi, Everyone..
hope things are going well with you.

I LOVE ANIMALS...
but it's farm animals that I adore.
Well...let me restate that...

it's PAINTINGS of farm animals that I truly love.
You already know how much I love these sassy pigs...:)

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh?" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. "I just wanted to be sure of you.”
Winnie The Pooh

I was surfing ETSY SHOPS the other day and happened on the cutest
COW PRINT..
YES...that cutie pie in my new header...

after looking at it for about 3 days...
 I ordered her.

Believe me when I say that she is a
COW AFTER MY OWN HEART......

When she arrived at SWEET NOTHINGS,
the search began for THE FRAME.
*
"Some people care too much. I think it's called love.”
Winnie The Pooh
* * *
...nothing fancy...
....nothing TOO rustic...
NOTHING that would, in any way, take away for HER  adorableness....
and, it had to be very...VERY...affordable.

The very first store I went in...
HOBBY LOBBY...
had the PERFECT ONE..

(I wanted to tell you that that beautiful, YOUNG girl and the handsome fella was Mr. Sweet and bj but, somehow I knew you'd NEVER believe it in a million years..)
*
How much more perfect than white with
black "spots"..

ok, I know they aren't
COW SPOTS...but close...

The problem...it was $60.
Sooo, even tho I am the most IMPATIENT lady on the planet and when I "want it...I want it right now" I knew those frames would go on sale for half price the very next week...
and I knew I could wait for that sale..
$30 sounded MUCH better.

I put a black mat and that amazing frame around
this sassy, cute little girl cow and
fell totally in love forever.
I TOLD her I loved her.....

“Some people talk to animals. Not many listen though. That's the problem.”
Winnie the Pooh

She looks right at home where I hung her.

She is so perfect for that room that I can't keep from going back in there and staring at her

I just LOVE it when I find something that gives me such pleasure and...
F.U.N.

She is hanging at the opposite  end of our living room from
THE PIGS...

Another thing...
she brings more BLACK & WHITE to the end of this large room

“We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
"Even longer,"  Pooh answered.”
Winnie the Pooh

 Regarding the COCONUT CREME PIE

P I'm out of town right now, away from my recipes, but remembered I'd taken a photo of her recipe.

I hope you can read it...and, of course, any questions, I'll be home on Sat night and you can email me then.

Now, remember, this pie recipe is very old..mother*in*law would be well  over 100 now and her mother*in*law gave the recipe to her. Actually, no telling how old it is...
POINT BEING.....
the recipe doesn't call for any spices like cinnamon or even vanilla (I add it, tho) and no butter.
The taste is awesome to us...  maybe because his mom made it. I hope you will enjoy it as well...just taste of the filling once you get it mixed up...add more sugar if you want it sweeter...or....add more sugar to your topping...and it should be just right.
xoxo

  5. OH!!! I LOVE your cow AND your pigs, too. Tell me again- who painted those pigs? Both your paintings are just so beautiful. That is the perfect frame- just right.

I copied your recipe down. CAN of coconut? Not CREAM of coconut, right? I don't know if I have ever seen cans of coconut. It comes in a package here and I am assuming that is the same thing? Do you know the weight of the can by any chance? Sorry to be such a pest about it-but we DO love our coconut cream pie here and I want to make it perfect! lol xo Diana

  17. Your post put me right in a good mood. What a nice way to wake up - I'm reading this with my 1st cuppa. The frame IS perfect. And the painting captures the sweet, gentle inquisitive nature of cows. Have you seen the little video of the cows following the small remote control car on you tube? It's very cute! Angels to you!

  18. I just can't get over that you found a frame with black spots on it just like the cow in the print. I love where you put the cow print on the wall. And Winnie the Pooh is a favorite of my stories when I would read to our children and grandchildren. I'm always saying "Think Pooh, Think." Have a nice week-end. See you next time.

  20. I see the artist even got the tags on the cow's ears. Or as the cattle call them, ear-rings of doom.

  26. Good morning bj, I too love farm animals. I was raised on a dairy farm until we moved to Florida. We had a pet cow named Blondie. She absolutely loved us and when we would go out in the pasture to bring the cows in for milking, Blondie would come running and all the cows followed her. Most of our cows were back and white. The farm was 370 acres and we had hired hands to help with the farm chores because my dad worked for General Motors and took care of the farm. A great life for kids. Your cow picture is so darling and the framing is perfect. Good job. You should do a post on your large living room. Maybe you did and I missed it.

    Happy Pink Sat.
    Love, Jeanne
