Nothing says AUTUMN like APPLES

Baked apples are a HUGE comfort food for me because my mom
made them for my brother, KEITH, and I all the time we were growing up.

I had two apples in the fridge that needed to be eaten
and BAKED was what I wanted this morning for breakfast.

Mom baked them in the oven....
I baked them in the microwave this morning
and they were both tender but not mushy (we NEVER want mushy)
in 5 minutes...

"....an apple a day keeps the doctor away."

I think that saying, heard all my life, is as much a comfort
as the baked apples...

The RED HOTS melted in RED GOODNESS ...

I love that little blingy pumpkin back there...

I had no intentions of buying another pumpkin but

he was so cute sitting there...and he winked at me...
and he flexed his muscles leaves  ever so slightly and he said,
"hey...got room for ME ?"
so I HAD to give him a ride ...
in my grocery cart......
what's a girl to do....?
You can't leave a handsome, blingy dude  stranded, now can you ?

I swear....these have that  "CANDIED APPLE from the FAIR" taste....
only the coating is SOFTER...
and
it is delicious...!

got apples..?
try baking some....
really good....
and really makes ya feel FALLISH.

  10. Hi BJ, You just gave me a wonderful idea that I hadn't thought about. I can have me a baked apple now by doing it in the microwave. It sounds so yummy. I love the blingy pumpkin. We are suppose to have some rain tomorrow hopefully after my busy day of running. I am doing catching up with friends tonight. Have a great rest of the week. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

  19. Hot cinnamon goodness drizzling over a steamy baked apple sounds wonderful right now! I would have to bake mine, I forgot my microwave when we moved and found out I really never needed it so I didn't replace it since I have such limited counter space.

  27. BJ You would not want me to be your neighbor because you would get tired of me always "stopping by" at mealtimes! These look so good. I have a baked apple memory: My mom made baked apples one day and my little sister would not try one and pulled a temper tantrum. My mom knew she would like it so she forced open her mouth and fed it to her. Her face immediately lit up as she realized it really tasted good :)

  30. Silly me, why don't I ever think of baked apples for breakfast? I think of them as such a treat I eat them for dessert, but they are certainly healthy enough for breakfast. What a great way to start the day!
