A Day in the Life of Sweet Nothings

You know how you hear a song and it get sooo stuck in your head, it just ALmost
drives you nuts.
Even a happy, fun song like

"ZIP-A-DEE-DOO-DAH
ZIP-A-DEE-AY
MY OH MY
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY....."
...even this can DRIVE YOU NUTS....

BUT....they've been advertising the LIZZIE BORDEN tv movie  all week long...
and the song they play has stuck in my head and  I  DON'T  LIKE  IT....!

"LIZZIE BORDEN TOOK AN AX
AND GAVE HER MOTHER 40 WACKS...
WHEN SHE SAW WHAT SHE HAD DONE,
SHE GAVE HER FATHER 41 "

GOOD GRIEF !!

ok, now I am humming
"WHEN THE SAINTS.....
GO MARCHING IN.....
O, WHEN THE SAINTS....GO....MARCHING ....IN.."

HOPEFULLY, this is the song that will get stuck in my head this week !!

(oh, and I googled Lizzie Borden and she was tried and found NOT GUILTY...what do YOU think..? )
****************************
Moving into more PLEASANT THINGS....

My heart always skips a beat when I see
 Mr. Sweet
getting tools gathered.

The sight of a hammer...
ruler....
screws....

makes me know I am about to get my
undercounter lights
mounted....

I've had them taped
to the underside for a week now,
just making sure where I wanted them.

and he got them
JUST PERFECT.....

"Thanks, Mr. Sweet...
now I don't have to hear
the sound of tape  pulling away from the wood..."

Have I ever blogged about this adorable MUG RUG...?

My sweet bloggy friend, KATHY, sent this to me a few years back and I just absolutely LUV it....

RED....with BLACK AND WHITE......

and polka dots on the reverse side.....

 What's NOT to luv....!!!!

"THANKS, KATHY...
I use it all the time, right here beside my computer...."

XOXO, bj

  2. Well, Lizzie was before me....(thank goodness!) but I think she did it. And I think Casey Anthony did it too....but I am not the judge. As my Grandpa would say....it will all come out in the wash eventually!

  4. What a neat mug rug! That Kathy is so talented!

I did a paper on Lizzy Borden in a college class and I found her totally non-guilty. I think it was a police set up. I did a lot of research. Blah, blah, blah!! I skimmed over those songs because I knew I would be singing them all night! :)

    XO,
    Jane

  5. LOVE your mug rug!!! She did a super job on it.
I was always fascinated by the Lizzy Borden story and we had company so I did not see the show. I hope they re-run it again. I think she was guilty as sin-but then again, I did not see the movie this time. That movie was made several years ago with Elizabeth Montgomery...remember her-Samantha the witch? She did an excellent job acting the part. xo Diana

  6. That is a wonderful mug rug...a fav, actually! The grands and I listened to one of these songs today...so far, it hasn't attached itself. I don't think that Lizzie Borden was guilty. Mr. Sweet does good work.

  7. I agree that the Lizzie Borden song is very sadistic! Every time it comes on I change channels!

    Love your precious mug rug.

  8. Your mug rug is darling and looks so good with your mug and pretty black//white check.
I hate when I get a song in my mind like that and you can't get it out.
Every time I go to Disneyland and go into the Small World attraction the song they play there stays in my head for days and days and days.
    Have a great week.

  9. Funny, I have had a song stuck in my head for two days. So you remember the French song "Dominique"
from The Singing Nun back int he 60s, maybe early 70s? Yep. THAT one.

Love that music mug too. And your mug rug from Kathy- super sweet.

Give your sweet fella a hug from me in blogland. Gotta love those hubby DYIers!!!

  11. That is the cutest little mug rug! Love the colors! And thanks, bj, for the music now playing a tune in my head. :) Oh, I almost forgot...can I borrow Mr. Sweet for a couple of hours? I need a light above the kitchen sink. I've only asked for one for about 5 years now. Bless BG's heart...he's good at a lot of things, but the little stuff gets put off and off and off. This day is about over, so I'll say Happy Tuesday!

  13. Love your mug rug and the mug. Nice of your husband to get your lights up. It is snowing here today and it is cold. We are only supposed to get a dusting but the way it is coming down it looks like we will get more. Have a blessed day. Madeline

  14. Darn, now why didn't I make myself one of those while I was at it? I forgot how much I liked it until I saw it again, Lol. Lights under the counter are the best aren't they? They put the light in just the right place while you work!

  15. That little coffee mug rug is so cute and just suited to you. Good for Mr. Sweet ... getting the under counter lights in.
Hope your weather is not too bad.
    Stay warm.

  16. The mug rug is so sweet!! I can see why it is a favorite! Those songs that get into your head,,, they are sometimes referred to as "song worms". They just wriggle their way through your brain all day long!!!

  17. Love the lights. And that placemat is really cute. I think Kathy must have been spying on you. It matches your stuff just perfectly!

  19. I hate when a song is stuck in your head, but that is disturbing.

Unfortunately, it's one of the few things Fall River is remembered for. It's stupid.

Love the cups and the pool!

  20. My husband happened upon the movie Whatever Happened to Baby Jane on TV the other night. Afterwards he went around singing one line "I wrote a letter to dad-dy" till I could about scream. Of course the more I protested, the more he teased. I haven't heard it for a few days now but don't imagine I have heard the last of it. So a song stuck in someone else's head can be just as bad as having it stuck in your own!!
