Bits and Bobs...

I am having a hard time focusing on getting my posts together.
I start on one subject
and before I can get it all going along the same way,
something else pops in my mind.
When I go thru these times,
I  resort back to
BITS and BOBS...
less stress..
not a real story going on...
a good way to use some photos...
 ♥ ♥ ♥

Oh, Honey...
this is the BEST recipe I've ever had for this dish.
I made this for our home fellowship dinner and
the pan was licked clean.
It has Mexican Velveeta Cheese which carries it over the moon.
I am sure, if you'd like,
you could just add this special cheese to YOUR recipe.
Baked chicken, deboned and skinned...
Saute and dice. 1 onion, bell pepper and 6 ribs of celery in 1 stick butter
Add 1 lb mexican velvetta cheese, can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can rotel, 1 can stewed tomatoes, get all blended together and cheese melted. Then add the chicken
I used about 3/4th of a large package of THIN spaghetti

Cute I LOVE PIE napkins from my girl, Stacy...
a great Cherry Pie...
and a new tea towel...

I put together some
just your recipe of cornbread, a little cheese and whatever else you might want..
and lots of black pepper...

FEBRUARY 1, 2017
was such a gorgeous day...
no wind...
plenty of sunshine...
low 60's...
a perfect way to start the month of February off.

Such pretty weather, we took a short day trip...
The sky was so pretty and blue..

We saw a small herd of deer...
they watched every move we made...

a beautiful lake with the bluest water I've ever seen..

right out of POST, TEXAS...

Coming home, we stopped for a
ice cream cone...

Well....I always get a cone
but Mr. Sweet likes their
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Blizzard...

Then he can't eat it and drive,
so we have to stop at a roadside park
until he eats it all and then...

we are on our way home.

It was a really nice outing...
we enjoyed our day.

  1. I can see why it's hard to focus lately but these are wonderful ramblings. The black pepper corn bread sounds really terrific and I love your black and whites. I don't see you do a lot of those -- they're very striking. I hope to see more!

  2. Everything is so purteeee! [squeal voice] .
I haven't had Dairy Queen in forever! My favorite is butterscotch dipped cone.

  3. Mmmmmmm.... Dairy Queen! Looks like a beautiful day for a beautiful drive! I am going to try that Mexican velveeta! Thank you for posting!

  4. How many recipe books do you have???
I made a delicious pasta, broccoli cheese a few days ago.
I stay away from the processed cheese . . .
    Looks good though!

  5. The spaghetti looks delicious BJ. Is that all you do?.....add chicken and melted Mexican cheese?
Thank you for your note. Life has been challenging these past two weeks but I am well and able to keep up with it all.

  6. So happy you and Mr. Sweet could get a day away. Yummie foods too.

  7. Hi bj, I love a bits and bobs post. Just fun in the winter in between times. Your recipes look so good. You've inspired me for a DQ. Loved your feature over at Stacey's. Have a blessed Sunday! xo

  8. Mexican Velveeta Cheese? I'm pretty sure we don't have that in Canada. I'll have to check next time I'm at the grocery store. We are so deprived up here, LOL!

  9. BJ, You would make an awesome food critic...the way you describe food makes me want it. LOL I am going to poofing the pillows, to see your place. Hope you and Mr. Sweet are doing well. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. You take the best pictures. So glad that you had a day out and about and I'm glad that the drive ended, as all good days do, with ice cream.

  11. Love your bits and bobs! I should try that sometime with my travel posts and see what I come up with. Loved that ice cream cone!!

  12. Looking at all your pictures reminds me of the Hill Country where I live. The photos of you when you were so young and so beautiful and look at you now!! Even more beautiful! Inside and out. Thanks for sharing your bits and bobs - and say, would you share your chicken spaghetti recipe?? Or point me to one you use?

May all be well with you and yours.

  14. Lovely photos and a great post. Have a blessed day. Madeline

  15. I have surely enjoyed your bits and bobs this afternoon dear BJ . Now the chicken spaghetti does look yummy . Hugs and blessings , Cindy

  16. BJ, I've almost forgotten how to post a comment on blogs! But just wanted you to know I love "SASS" also. I am a sassy chick and always have been. Some people don't "get" me but those who do love me. I cannot understand why so many people love me. Truly! I'm as close to "obnoxious" as you can get without having someone shooting me!

  17. I don't think we ever got ice cream from DQ. I have gotten ice cream cakes from there

  18. Your February looks lovely, such nice weather. We are getting snow again and will soon be having to dig our way out.

    That chicken spaghetti looks great.

    God bless.

  19. My kids love the Jiffy cornbread! Always a hit. Will have to add cheese and black pepper.

  20. I came over from your feature on Poofing the Pillows and finally started following you. I always loved when I came across your posts, so now I will get them in my email! Love your bits and bobs. Sometimes there is so much going on but not enough of one thing to post about. I need to come up with something to write soon!

  21. Glad you had a great day for a drive. Lovely scenery. Oh my and look at all the good lookin food. Yum. Hope you are having a good Sunday and the start of your week goes well.

  22. Love posts like this, BJ. It's a great way to catch up!

Your drive was a great way for me to see a bit of Texas!

  24. All of your food pictures are amazing as always! Isn't it the greatest to just get out on a beautiful day and enjoy a ride with your love? and then to end it with a sweet treat...The Best! I think I'd pick a blizzard too! ;o)

  25. You always make me hungry:) Hope you are doing well, praying for Mr. Sweet every day! HUGS!

  26. All your food selections look so yummy! I always crave cherry pie in Feb. LOL "Presidents Day"??

I'd love to know how you made the chicken spag.

    I'm not surprised you're having trouble focusing on blog posts. Your mind is elsewhere right now. {{{HUGS}}}

  27. You always want to make me hit the kitchen running......Cornbread looks really tasty. Your day trip was wonderful and it is beautiful blue water.

  28. I've added cheddar cheese to cornbread but never black pepper--will have to try that! I also have not seen Mexican Velveeta cheese before either, but then I never looked for it.I like to make taco pie and I bet that cheese would taste good in it. Gla dyou and Mr. Sweet were able to have a nice drive and ice cream treat!

  29. Thinking about you and praying for you. It all looks delicious with your Bits and Bobs.

  30. MMm that icecream looks so nice.I could almost taste it. I love going on little trips like that too. I think your spaggetti is a must try all cheesy and sticky.

  31. Loved going along on that drive with yall! that sure was a pretty blue lake and now, after the photo----I am so craving one of those big white cold fluffy ice cream cones, extra large and extra tall and extra EVERYTHING! ha ha ha LOL

  32. So many good ideas! I loved seeing all the little things that have made up your life. Mama passed away last week. Thank you for being so kind to her. I am just so sad

  33. Oh my, that spaghetti recipe has my mouth watering just looking at it! Thanks for the recipe :)
I love Jiffy corn bread mix. Earl and I actually spent this weekend in the little town where it is made, Chelsea, Michigan. I'm a bit surprised that you use it, it's a sweet cornbread, which I LOVE but I'm a northern girl and I always heard the south likes their cornbread with no sugar. It's mighty good stuff though!

Your comments just make my day....thanks so much!
