SUNFLOWERS....
Summer of2018
we had the prettiest little wildflower garden in the raised flower bed
that David built for us.
I enjoyed all the beauty so much and didn't have to do anything to the garden
but water...
that is the beauty of a wildflower garden...
all the green grasses just add to the beauty.
Our beautiful Athena loves to pose....
'cause she knows SHE is prettier than any ole flower 💓

a bird dropped a sunflower seed right in the middle of our garden...
and just like that....
we had this gorgeous, lone sunflower plant.
I harvested a few seeds,
let them dry,
put them in an envelope to plant THIS year...
and I almost forgot them...
tossed them into pot and...

I had comment moderation on but don't like it oo I took it off.
ReplyDeleteHi bj,
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the pretty in your post especially Athena. What a beautiful Great Dane she is. She reminds me of our grand dog Bruce that is a all black Great Dane or as I refer to him as the couch that walks around or the mini pony they have indoors lol! They are the sweetest big lugs you will ever find. I think Bruce's head weighs 60lbs and you know it when he comes and plops his head on your shoulder to pet him. Happy Saturday sweet friend.
xoxo

BJ our eldest son always plants one sunflower (at least) every year. He dries the head and uses it to feed the birds in the winter.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Flowers always bring happiness.

So much fun to see flowers pop up that birds helped to spread! Sunflowers are such a happy flower.
ReplyDeleteSun flowers are my favorite flowers. I got so excited on Friday when I saw a beautiful bouquet of them on sale. Every time I walk past them in the kitchen, they make me smile. Yours were destined to be and I'm so glad that they bloomed!
ReplyDeleteYour one sun flower is pretty, my hubby planted 5 sun flowers this year he got 3 to come up.
ReplyDeleteSuch GORGEOUS photos! I have never grown sunflowers before, but I have really been taken with all of the photos that I have seen of them lately. I think I need to find a small variety to grow in pots on my deck next year. Thanks, as always, for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are dazzling, BJ! I have to say, those colors are just making my day right now!

I love the black hand. I have seen it many times on blogs, but have never come across it to purchase - I collect hands. I do have a tea towel with that hand imprinted on it.
ReplyDeleteLike that posed picture of Athena :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE those sunflowers! I've planted sunflowers for many years but a few years ago the tiny leaves were eaten... by something. I don't know what. I need to plant some again but this time put some chicken wire over them to hopefully keep whatever 'it' is, out!
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty flowers! I just love them all! Enjoy your day dear B.J. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI hate the thought of comment moderation but am about to turn to it, to keep the creep that keeps pestering with his spam out of my life. Your wild flowers are beautiful and I love sunflowers!!
ReplyDeletewishing you and yours a pleasant Labor Day weekend, dear Lady
