My Poor Pitiful Pergula Patio....

With all the stormy weather we've had out here in my part of Texas,
my poor pitiful Pergola Patio
needs tons of work...
and not to mention the fact that last summer,
I was still in deep grief and had no interest whatsoever about.....
well....anything, really.

My swing cushions are faded and beginning to tear in places...
they are about 4 or 5 years old now and the sun hasn't been kind to them....

In a perfect bj world,
I would have gray wicker
 loveseat...
2 matching chairs...
a amazing coffee table....
something like

BUT....high dollar and with no cover over my patio...
not even trees...
the cushions on these would create the same problem I have now.

So, I am just going to hang on to what I have
and maybe have the swing cushions recovered.

...the little birdbath I put together a couple of years ago
is still holding up great...

I learned not to put bird seed in the little blue side dish
as, when I did, I had bird poop all over the place...
now I just keep a little water in it...
later in the summer, I want to get a pot plant to sit on it...

I love mixing colors and patterns..
so bright and playful...

Sooo....
until I win the lottery to buy new, pretty patio furniture,
I am happy and lucky to have what I've got...

and if this silly wind ever calms down,
the little table between the chairs
has an umbrella hole...
and...
I've got an umbrella. 😍

  2. It looks charming to me...I was going to suggest a little canopy for the swing, but then I remembered windy days in your corner. Glad that you are getting some wind in your sails this year. Life is easier when we’re moving. ⛵️

  3. It all looks lovely and cheerful. Birds are the worst when they want to be up close and personal! One keeps trying to make a nest on anything that stands still around here.

  4. Yes, the sun is hard on upholstery. Still attractive though!

  5. I feel the same way about my tiny deck - it needs some loving if all the rain could just stop for a while...at least your cushions are cheering your pergola area up!

  6. I have zero patio furniture, so you have more than I.

  7. Your patio looks well loved and that's better than picture perfect!

  8. Ah but you are so wise to not put that umbrella out there now. Years ago in Colorado I had one of the biggest umbrellas a normal person can buy for the deck and the wind literally blew it inside out! I had only bought it the day before and I was AGHAST!!!!

You have such a pretty area there, in spite of everything.

  9. We have the same problem with our cushions here. I just recover them.

    God bless.

  10. Oh, you want to see fade and pitiful? Come visit my chairs on my deck in Greece! Yikes! Your stuff looks vibrant!! And that bird bath of yours continues to taunt me: I am going to construct one one of these days but I've already forgotten what you used to put the pieces together!

  11. Oh, you should see mine. They look bad, lots worse than yours...lol But mine are on the deck, which needs work too. And as we both know things slow down after we lose our loved ones. I LOVE your patio and everything on it!!!! You are and always have been so gifted! That bird bath you made and painted is just gorgeous ! I have so many things that need painted...wheel barrow..bird bath I want to make etc... just need someone to do it... lol Sorry about your winds, they take such a toll on things.

You take care and I have requested to follow you in Instagram! Look forward to following you there too!

    Blessings
    Gert

  12. I love your colorful patio. I know just what you mean about how quickly cushions weather but I think you made the right decision to just enjoy their comfort for now. You may find perfect replacements on sale later on in the summer.

  13. Hi bj,
You guys are really being hit by a lot of storms. We are having so much rain up here in Illinois too. I think the weather all over is not good. We broke records for rainfall for the month of May. We need some sunshine!!! I need some sunshine!!! I love the shape of your swing cushions and I love that swing. I think you have such a pretty set and am glad to hear you will hang onto what you have. New cushions would be perfect. Happy Weekend. Enjoy.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  17. Your pergola-patio is gorgeous! My cushions are fading too:( I try to remember to bring them in but forget it more than I remember. ALSO... the chairs are naked and that's not pretty either when the cushions are missing. Enjoy your day dear B.J. BIG HUGS from Georgia!

  20. ****THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:****

Portugal is the Biggest Racist country that i have ever lived in. I feared for my life there and i consider myself lucky that my family got out alive! I have never lived in such poverty (Sopas dos Pobres everyday) 40% unemployment rate and 60% of the population earn less than $932 USD per month, and that's considered Middle Class here! Within the European Union it is the worst of the worst place to live.

The bottom line is the bulk of the People in our poor country exist in a brainless comma that is fed by Ignorance, anti-Spanish hate, and severe Racism of pretty much everybody that isn't Portuguese! And, Portugal started the Global Slave Trade in 1441 so it is definitely NOT a safe place for Blacks!!

I found important websites that explain the Severe multi-generational Racism and Hate that exist in Portugal today, and i highly encourage all to read them and spread the word in order to avoid innocent, and desperate people from living or visiting there. Get educated on the Truths about Racist Portugal now.

PORTUGAL IS THE BIGGEST, RACIST, ANTI-SPANISH COUNTRY ON THE PLANET!

I HEREBY ALERT ALL PEOPLE ON EARTH TO NOT BUY FROM PUTUGAL, DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD, EARNED MONEY GOING THERE AND BOYCOTT ALL PORTUGEE STORES IN YOUR AREA! DON'T BUY THEIR GOODS OR WINES!!!

THESE XENOPHOBIC RACISTS HAVE TO LEARN AND THE BEST WAY IS TO BLOCK THEM ECONOMICALLY!

    BE CAREFUL FRIENDS!

  21. Sorry about the winds. Remember you telling me about the winds you get.

Summer furniture is tough in most parts of the country I think. It's also so expensive. In a perfect world we would love outdoor living in beauty. Many of us have weather that's goes from one extreme to the other.

This is one of the reasons we try to never pay too much.

    Hope the winds stop.

    Cindy

  23. BJ,
Lovely bright colors on your patio!
I have a similar problem on our back deck.
Faces the West, gets the afternoon sun & heat. . .and all the wind!
"Mr. Ed" & I purchased two folding lawn chairs and we sit in the Front Gardens in the afternoons.
With all our downpours of rain this Season, I'm still waiting to put the cushions on the deck for morning coffee.
