A pretty red bundt cake pan and
fresh lemons
can be the start of something
WONDERFUL....
and truth be told,
your pan doesn't even have to be RED......
but you DO
have to have
FRESH LEMONS..🍋

OH HONEY
Hug your cake with fresh lemon slices and fresh lemon zest on top...
your family will love you forever.
your family will love you forever.
No recipe here, ladies...
just a lemon pound box cake, cooked in a bundt pan
using buttermilk instead of water...and an extra egg, of course.
It goes without saying that I added extra Vanilla
and may or may not have touched a dab of it behind ea ear....
just like my Aunt Lillian used to do..😌

Glaze is powdered sugar and lemon juice with a touch of cream.
I added drops of yellow cake coloring for a luscious color...a very pale yellow...
(looks totally white in these photos)
This is soooo delicious if you are a LEMON LOVER...
...another lemmon thing we love around here is
LEMMONADE
( i know, i spelled it LEMONADE all my life..)
A few years ago, a couple of grandgirls,
Brynna and Deeds
wanted to have a Lemonade Stand...
I'll bet most of you thought
Lemmon
was spelled LEMON.....
well....
now ya know....😁
Their little cousins,
Tristan and Bradon
came by to hang out under the big shade tree....
every now and then getting a little more LEMMONADE in their cups...
They had quite a few customers....
enuf that it gave them a little moola for their pockets...
That cake looks delicious!!! Pretty too of course! I have a bundt pan like that but in yellow!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter used to do lemonade stands. Its surprising how many people will stop by for a sugar swig!
Hugs
Lisa

ReplyDeleteI've never been too thrilled with lemon, lemonade or anything from their lime kin
ReplyDeleteBJ, I am going to try to make this cake...it just looks so yummy. I love lemon too. The lemonade stand and the grands...a beautiful memory for you. Little Deeds...almost could cry , our grand are growing up. Once my grands had a lemonade stand and Jake was 4, yelling , "come get your lemonade " The neighbor came over and bought a cup...Jake says, "hey, Fred want some ice?" Fred said, yes, as Jake reaches his dirty little hands into the ice bucket and plops some in Fred's cup. LOL Fred said he didn't have the heart to say anything, just went back home laughing. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks awesome. However we do not have boxed lemon pound cake mix up here. No pound cake mixes at all. I just may have to improvise.
ReplyDeleteThe grand children have grown so much over the years. It is wonderful to see them as small children once again.
God bless.
