Hello, everyone...
we are still having cloudy, lovely days...a tiny bit cool one day
but 70+ degrees the next....
Summer time is trying hard to get here and I am more than ready.
Springtime here in West Texas if full of wind and I am glad to get it over with.
I stopped at a thrift store on my way to the grocery store today....
I am looking for a killer outdoor conversation patio set for our girl...
she needs one for the deck at her lake house.
I guess we waited too late in the spring to start looking because
every thing we find is sooo expensive.
sooo.
was hoping to find a great one at the thrift store...or consignment shop.
no luck so far.
it seems i can always find something WHITE that i love at the thrift stores...
this is a great piece..heavy...in perfect shape for $2.
A piece like this has so many fun uses....
I really fell in love with this large metal tray....
made in England...
I love anything made in England.
(some of you may remember that I was
IN LUV with
TONY BLAIR.)
lol
A really nice large tray for
$2.00
I love using large trays on this pretty metal table....
it can go outside....
and works beautifully inside as well....
(that little tiny white dish is another story for a post...)
Put them all together, along with my thrifted COFFEE pot and mug....
well...
and a plate of warm cookies
and I had a winner.
I wonder so often...
why did someone get rid of such great pieces...
and then I remember...
"One man's trash is another man's treasure..."
and
I believe it.
I don't think I've seen anything say it was made in england. We got a pizza bag (to save the heat) and it was made in Germany. It was only a dollar too
ReplyDeleteOh sweet thrifting finds! And I think that you will find what you are looking for one of these days soon. That's a wonderful picture of Stacey in your sidebar. Her sweet smile is making all of us smile right back.
ReplyDeleteYour new finds are terrific. The plant looks wonderful in that vase and I especially love the tray -- it's perfect for your table! And I'm a sucker for made in England too -- anything English, and French will be just fine, too! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that tray:) So many uses for a piece like that! Have a blessed day dear B.J. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI also love the tray,, you have such a skill at setting things up,,creating vignettes so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteBJ, Your two thrift finds are wonderful. I love the tray on the iron table. The vase went with your other white finds very well. Hope the wind dies down there. I like breezes , But hate when it is super windy. Where we live, everything outside has to be weighted down , tied down, or nailed down. It's not all the time but occasionally . Just keep your eye on yard sales and goodwills...you may find something for your daughter yet. Blessings for a fun weekend. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteGood finds,Bj ! I love shopping thrift stores. I donated a lot of things when I moved last December, and so many were really nice and I didn't enjoy losing them but had to downsize. Maybe some one was wondering why they ended up in SA, Hope they enjoy them as much as I did for years.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, BJ! I love white pottery, too! Good luck in your search for a patio set! ~Rhonda
ReplyDeleteYou find the neatest things when you go thrifting. Love the tray and vase.

ReplyDeleteHi, BJ. Love your treasures, especially that tray. When the table already has a top, I don't think about using a large tray on it, but now I will. Great idea inside or out..Have a great weekend..Judy

Great finds! I love things made in England...found a large glass container with a lid that is marked England. I keep bath salts in it.
ReplyDeleteYou did find some treasures! My favorite is the white vase, is it ironstone? It just looks so beautifully made and in a shape you don't usually see. The tray is wonderful as the top of the little table, what a great idea :)
ReplyDeleteLove your treasures! Your vase looks like ironstone and I have a Dahar metal tray. The designs are so pretty on them. I often go in to a thrift shop for one thing and come out with a bag of treasures!!

Here I am catching up again! It seems life goes by so fast and I miss blog posts here and there and suddenly realize it's time to stop and see what my friends are doing. I love seeing your thrifting finds. You hit the jackpot with the white vase and the blue tray. Love how you put it all together, too.
