I've often wondered....
If I could choose ANY God-Given talent, what would I choose....??
I am pretty sure I would choose to be able to PAINT.
I've seen such beautiful paintings...
and I've seen such beautiful FRUITS that just screamed,
"Paint me !!"
"Paint me !!"
Yes, ma'am.....
I would dearly love to be able to paint ANYthing
but, for some reason, I find fruit to be something I'd REALLY love to paint.
OK....I can't PAINT FRUIT....
but I CAN make an
APPLE PEAR CRISP
using THIS RECIPE off the net.
I had to cut the recipe waaay down as I didn't have nearly enuf fruit for the recipe.
I had only
1 apple
2 1/2 apple/pears
I cut the recipe in half....other than the fruit (had less than 1/2)
and it made a really nice sized Crisp.
.....enuf for Mr. Sweet and I and COMPANY, too. :)
I cut up all the fruit into small chunks...
I always use FRUIT FRESH on my fresh fruits...
keeps the fruit from changing colors and helps keep it looking ....
well........fresh..!
DUH ... !!
After adding all the ingredients for the TOPPING,
I added a good handful of PECANS,
altho the recipe doesn't call for them, I add them every chance I get.
Into a 350 oven for 30 minutes...
after checking the doneness of the fruit,
I baked it all about 25 minutes longer.
...got all the bowls and pans washed up ......
while the Crisp baked to a
GOLDEN GOODNESS.....

OOO, it looks sooo good.
Mr. Sweet brought home 2 delicious burgers from town...
(this one is mine and I take off tomatoes and most of the lettuce..
I like my pickles and onions ON THE SIDE...)
sooo, my burger looks really flat.
and I was sooo glad I'd made DESSERT.
XOXO, bj
...it surely was YUMMY.

ReplyDeleteI can understand why you are drawn to fruit. It is so naturally beautiful.
I would also love to paint and envy the people that can. Now that dessert does look good.
ReplyDeleteYum! You are always cooking up a tasty treat, BJ. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeletePS
I don't eat tomatoes on my hamburger either. '-)
A crisp sounds good BJ, it's been too long since I've made one... Gotta correct that:@)
ReplyDeleteLooks so good, I love anything made with apples! Oh and Pecans!

"Mr.Sweet" and you make an amazing team!!!
Now. . .wonder if I have any apples in the fridge?
Fried Apples for breakfast is calling. . .
Fondly,
Pat
I wish I could paint too, but sadly cannot. So I take photos instead, LOL, and some of them I change into painterly looks with digital magic! I really like the first painting, where one pair looks like it is pushing the other one off the edge.
ReplyDeleteYummy yummy everything looks so delicious, especially the dessert. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to paint really well, too. Wouldn't it just be so much fun??
ReplyDeleteLove your yummy looking dessert. Do you have any left? I'll be right over.
Yum! Yum! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI would choose playing piano.
My mother used to paint when I was little. She actually made a little extra income by selling her paintings. I on the other hand, can hardly draw a recognizable stick figure! Lol! I obviously didn't get her painting abilities. :) Your dessert looks delicious and I agree...pecans make everything better. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd choose sing. I can't even carry a tune and sometime I'd love to grab that mike and join in the karaoke, but that will NEVER happen. ha ha
ReplyDeleteYum, yum! I wish I had some of your crisp right now.
ReplyDeleteFor my talent, I would love to be able to sing.
Oh I am eyeing the scrubbie...looks like the one featured on Shark Tank. Does it work?
ReplyDeletethis made me so hungry I settled for a bologna sandwich and frittos!
ReplyDeleteHi BJness! Wish I could pop over to see you and eat some of your delicious cooking. You'd have me fatter than a pig! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
