Hello to everyone...
Well, Thanksgiving is over....
we were richly blessed to be able to have our family with us again this Thanksgiving
and I ended the day with a heartfelt prayer to be able to have this blessing
again NEXT year.
Now, it's time to GET SERIOUS about Christmas.
My Mackenzie*Child look-alike shelf that MR. SWEET BUILT, has been the spot where
all the early Christmas gifts are hanging out....just until the
CHRISTMAS TREE goes up.
For over 50 years, I've put my CHRISTMAS TREE
up the day after Thanksgiving .

....gifts are on the bench
...they are underneath
...on the top

Did you notice that they are NUMBERED..???
hahhaaaa.....
I have to wait until AFTER Christmas to tell you all about it.
It's all about
Christmas Fun !!
I have SOME of my shopping done...
but not even CLOSE to all of it.
This is the cutest
SANTA HAT....
when I went to Walgreen
to pick up meds, and
NO intention of buying a Santa hat, I saw this one
and fell in love.
...a pretty red color, white fluff with rhinestones...
what's NOT to love ?
I made these last Christmas Eve and will do the same this year.
GRANDS biscuits, flattened, buttered, sugared, cinnamon'd
cherries....(NOT cherry pie filling) sugared, boiled until thick,
wrap those biscuits around those cherries for a
lip-smacking good dessert.
...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas........
Excuse me now....
I have a CHRISTMAS TREE to put up and trim.
XOXO, bj

Oh my word! .... That shelf, That Shelf!!! I want one, I want one... It is fabulous!! He built it?? & you painted it?? I am pinning it to try & copy.... Again FABULOUS!!! (He should sell them : )
ReplyDeleteHave fun decorating the tree.... Christmas has exploded at this house...boxes all over the place...
Happy Pink Saturday, dear BJ. It is indeed beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Your gifts look so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe have been decorating like crazy today. All we have left to do is decorate the tree and a few things outside. We have plans tomorrow, but we will finish Sunday.
BJ...your shelf is just too adorable! And look at all of the shopping you have done! I never buy a thing until after Thanksgiving... I better get busy, huh? My house is in transition as we speak :)
ReplyDeleteYou have things going on the right track(shelf). I see we share one thing in common, I use more gift sacks than boxes for wrapping. . After shopping, do not feel like wrapping, just sack it up.
ReplyDeleteI love love the colors you have going on, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou're really on the ball, BJness! Your Christmasing looks so pretty all around your shelf. There you go feeding me again - yummy!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Does anyone else see the Santa in the cherry dessert? I thought it was intentional! So sweet!
ReplyDeleteits all looking mighty festive BJ.. looking forward to seeing all your Christmas decor.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking a lot like Christmas. With the help of my daughter, we got the outside Christmas decorations up and she helped me bring up my decorations that I keep in the basement so tomorrow I'll be busy doing the inside. Love the hat you bought and the way you have placed your packages until you get your tree up. Have a blessed evening. Madeline
ReplyDeleteEverything looking festive and pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou are way ahead of me - I need to get busy.
Enjoy your weekend.
I think your numbering plan is brilliant...must be remembering something. Happy decorating!
ReplyDeleteLooks really pretty bj ... don't know how you have had the time to shop. I am sure your are smart and shopped way ahead of time. Anxious to hear about your numbering system. I tend to wait until the last minute. Hope to get Christmas decorating started next week. That will be really early for me. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

It all looks so festive! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour cute little gift bags, and your fancy Santa hat with that cute bench all look so bright and Christmas-y! You have everything so beautifully organized. A couple of more Christmas posts like this, and I might start to get into the Christmas swing of things.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family....this coming week!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a good start on the Christmas shopping! Have fun with the tree, I put mine up yesterday, I look forward to that all year:@)
ReplyDeleteAlways a treat to see your Mackenzie Child look-alike shelf that your Sweetie built. I want to know what the numbers are for!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am doing the same here! Tree is up with lights and the decorations will go on today:) Love that shelf that Mr. Sweet made for you! Nice place to keep the gifts, looks really festive! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS
ReplyDeleteI love your bench all decorated! I'm ready to get my Christmas on!!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking quite festive there already! Enjoy putting up the tree!
ReplyDeleteI love that shelf! And, your packages are all so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe shelf and your packages all look so festive, especially in contrast to the bare scene I see as I look around me. But I'll start a little bit of decorating today. Enjoy putting up that tree!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, looks like some good pickins there! I just love Christmas presents - Giving and Getting!! I know, I was an only child....what do you expect????
ReplyDeleteYummy on the little cherry treats. Everything is looking good. I have three trees and my wreaths up and it seems like it taking me forever to accomplish anything. I guess that happens as we get olden and have no help LOL Can hardly wait to see your tree...... have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteMary
Yes, it DOES look a whole lot like Christmas at your house already! I'm impressed...you're way ahead of me. My DGSs brought up the tree from the basement before they left on turkey day & on Black Friday, Ms. C. helped me get rid of all the autumn orange stuff yesterday. The rest is up to me!
ReplyDeleteThose cherry handpies look & sound amazing but please tell me where you find fresh cherries to use in them? Frozen ones maybe???
It really IS beginning to look like Christmas! How fun, and I can't wait to see your decorations this year:>)
ReplyDeleteChristmas is starting to look like a lot of merriness at your house BJ!
ReplyDeleteLooks AWESOME BJ - Merry Christmas!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that shelf...especially with all those pretty gifts sitting around it...smile! Beautiful! So glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving!! Enjoy putting up that tree!! Smile!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Everything's looking good, bj! That M-C look alike shelf is the cutest ever! Please let us know about the numbered bags! xo
ReplyDeleteGood early morning bj, Yesterday we were off to the last Fl Gator football game of the year. A sigh of relief for the last trip to Fl for a while. We love the fun of it all but I too have a tree and so much more to do at home in NC. I have done next to no shopping. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteI love your festive gifts all lined up on your shelves. Knowing you, I am sure Christmas will be another special time with your beautiful family. The cherry dessert looks delicious and sounds simple. We had cherry trees when we lived on the farm as children and cherries are my fave to this day. Any way I can get em. Smile!!!
Happy Christmas decorating in your new home. I know you are loving every minute that you are creating new memories.
Love and hugs,
Jeanne
