I've been working on my backyard outdoor space for several weeks now...
all thru the month of May, really...
I've shown you my metal planter that I refinished with fresh paint:
and my bright red potting bench.....
I just LUV this.....:>)
and my little resting spot with lots and lots of color...
I was so excited when the UPS man in his brown truck left these boxes for me the other day....
I'd been watching for them for a couple days...
Mr. Sweet moving this tiny box that was sooo heavy he had to use a dolly.
I think all the bolts and screws and stuff were in the little box.
...after assembling the pergola,
in order to be able to screw the inter pieces together,
they had to lay it down...
here family is helping to raise it up....
YAY for family.
...thanks so much for helping us with this....
we so appreciate it.
be still, my heart....
I've wanted a small pergola for a long, long time...
xoxo, bj
I'll show you how great it looks soon....
Ohhh you are going to enjoy that!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, BJ!! I hope it provides you with a wee bit of shade from that hot TX sun. Can you grow wisteria in TX? I have a beautiful painting in my foyer of a wisteria covered pergola. I should blog about it someday.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new overhead pretty!!
The pergola looks fantastic and should shelter you from the blazing sun. Looks perfect, I've always wanted one too. Happy sunning.

That's just awesome BJ! You have an amazing family. :)
ReplyDeleteBJ, thanks for sharing this at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. You rock!!
DeleteWhat fun!! You will enjoy it so much, but then you already know that!!
ReplyDeleteJust like an Amish barn-raising but on a smaller scale!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! As I was scrolling past your sitting area I was thinking to myself, she needs some shade! Is the pergola going over the sitting area?
ReplyDeleteI know you will love this BJ . It's so nice to have a group of caring helpers. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI love your pergola! Maybe that should be my summer project. Maybe not -- I'm pretty sure it wouldn't look half as good as yours!
ReplyDeleteOh how cool. Congratulations. I'm about to go to the store. I think I need to read your next post first! Did I see Blackberries?

So cool ... Isn't it wonderful to be able to order exactly what you need! This is really going to be perfect for summer! Tho I think that resting space is pretty perfect already!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous BJ,I Just love it.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I'm in love, I have been wanting a pergola all my life, (well seems it to me) I must have a pergola Now!!
ReplyDeleteAnd now you HAVE it!!! I am so happy for you!!! It all looks very summery and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou have some great ideas and are fortunate to be able to carry them out. Everything looks perfect for the area. The thing that really caught my eye, is the little barn/house on your red potting bench. As you know by now, I am a little different.
ReplyDeleteHow bright and charming everything is---that green and white is simply stunning. I Do love those things---Daddy built one onto the back deck a couple of weeks before our wedding, and we got married under there, with a couple of hundred lawn chairs all spread out in front. Then a couple of friends brought in the two punch tables and cake table, and it became a lovely refreshment area.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can NEVER remember how to pronounce it---all I know is it's NOT, like Miss Sissy Prater always called hers, a "Pagoda."
Awaiting the reveal!

I would love a pergola, but there is no room for one at this point in time in our yard.... Well there would be if I got rid of the fire pit or the perennial bed and I am not going to do that at this time.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see the big reveal.
God bless.
You just about have that back yard like you want it now, bj. Or are there more surprises up your sleeve? Well, guess it's too hot to have a sleeve... but you get the picture. (grin)
ReplyDeleteLatane...I hope you see this...I have left comments on your blog 2 times that I get a notice in my email that it didn't work....?
Deletehere's the comment I left on your blog today:
"Hi, Latane..so good to have you come by...and yes, I do, indeed, have
several more items that I will add to my tiny backyard space... as soon as
that big brown, UPS truck gets here....:)
