I have really been enjoying seeing all the beautiful flower gardens in Blogland.
We don't have a lot planted here yet...
This is my first time trying for a CONTAINER GARDEN but
it sure is bothersome to have to water most every day...
our winds here in West Texas keep blowing my pots over.
I finally put some broken pieces of brick in some of the
lightweight pots...hope that keeps them from blowing into the next county.
We have some roses planted but they aren't looking all that pretty yet.
As soon as they grow a little more and get pretty, I'll be snapping photos, for sure.
Zinnias have always been a favorite...
> A new, bright red umbrella but the wind has been so strong, we had to bungee cord it to keep it from sailing off into the wild blue yonder.
...just ridiculous
...and all the time I'm playing with flowers....
I have this music going full blast....
♪♪ Long tall Sally, she's built to please a guy...♪
isn't it funny how much more fun ANYthing is when you have good, LOUD music playing.
It's silly, but every time we get a new car, first thing I do is take it out to the country and turn my radio up almost as loud as it will go....and just drive and drive.
Now, I am fully aware that a lot of you don't even KNOW who
LITTLE RICHARD
or THE BEACH BOYS are...
50's and 60's music was some of the very best. Whatever kind of music you listened to during your teen years is ALWAYS the best music for the rest of your life.
Pink Sat
Shadow Shot Sun
Awwwww come on. Lots of us know who Little Richard was. And Fats Domino. And, and, and.... -grin-

Wow, you do have winds in TX. Here, in a big T-storm, we might have rather high winds. But not sustained. Not needing bricks on tables. -grin-
ReplyDeleteSo... If you need bricks on tables... You put bricks on tables.... That's just how it rolls. ,-)
Hugs,
Tessa
The wind is something to deal with isn't it! I have tomato cages around my hollyhocks! Between the wind and my dog chasing toads, my potted plants have had a hard time also. Love 50's and 60's music! They just don't make music like that anymore! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteknow them both and both are great to jam to. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes I remember Little Richard, the Beach Boys and many more back in the 50's and 60's. Great music back then. Your flowers look great . I have been across the state of Texas many times and I know how windy it gets. Have a blessed day and wonderful weekend. Madeline
ReplyDeleteGarden shadows are so mysterious---and yours are no exception. What tales could be told from these photos!
ReplyDeleteThe shadows emanating from these flowery plants are as delicate as the thin leaves - pretty. I like the music you listen to as you do your gardening - no doubt the music allows the plants to thrive, growing to a musical (and your) beat :)
ReplyDeleteLove your flowers sooooo pretty Bj. Have a wonderful week end.
ReplyDeleteKris
The Beach Boys are classic and will never go out of style. Even my 20 and 30 something children like them. Your flowers are so pretty. Hope the wind settles down soon. Bricks on the table are probably not your favorite decorating statement.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are pretty. Some flowers do better in various locations, but you should have roses. I have had some of the most gorgeous this year. I am an Elvis fan.
ReplyDeletebj ... looking so pretty. Turn those bricks on the table over with the holes facing up ... tie a burlap ribbon around them ... add Solar lights, battery candles, trailing vines or flowers and no one will know they are weights, but just some fancy table decor by bj.

Beautiful blooms and I can relate as it has been so windy here that my containers are blowing over too and so much rain in NY but not as much as in other areas...Michelle
ReplyDeleteLOL-I'm old enough to know who they are!
ReplyDeleteI love the zinnias too and your flowers are gorgeous!
I love all your flowers, I bet butterflies and birds love to hang out in your garden!
ReplyDeleteRose
It is all beautiful, BJ. I love zinnias! My mother used to plant them when I was a little girl. Your bright red umbrella looks so pretty. Ours used to be bright red, but it has faded. I am trying to get another year out of it because functionally it is in good shape. Maybe I will cost the price of painting it.
ReplyDeleteYour container flowers are so pretty!! Now we must have been teenagers at the same time....as I LOVE the Beach Boys and Little Richard and more.... Smile!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Other than my perennial garden in the center of the yard all my flowers are in containers of some kind. I love how I can group them and make big splashes of colour where ever I want them.
ReplyDeleteYour containers are looking just lovely.
God bless.
Smart girl you are with the bricks!! I love containers as I like the flowers near me on the patio, What beauties you have!

Wow, that's some serious wind, B.J.!! We're finally getting some much-needed rain here in N.C. I love the outdoor pillow, and your bright pink Zinnias are beautiful. They've always been one of my favorites. I'm not really a Little Richard fan, but I love, love the Beach Boys and have for years.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Sunday. :)
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Very colorful and pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteGreat music - can't beat the 50s & 60s. Pity about the wind, the Busy Lizzies will survive!
ReplyDeleteDelightful flowers, I love the delicacy that conveys its delicate colors!
ReplyDeleteha, even though it's from before my time, I know who Little Richard is. just put a Little Richard YouTube mix on. fun. and love your garden. I have a balcony for the first time in ages and enjoying the flowers there too :)
ReplyDeleteYour sweet personality always shines through with the most vibrant colors BJ....lovely and yes....dance to the music!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat music BJ listen to the 50's and 60's all the time! Super loud too!
ReplyDeleteHello BJ, lovely blooms! Years ago, I use to listen to the Beach Boys all the time! Happy Sunday, have a great new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteLove the zinnias, that is one flower I don't have! That pillow is TOO cute! Have a blessed and beautiful day looking out at you pretty view! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tour you gave and my toes were tapping (OPA!) at the thought of dancing to Little Richard. Music does make the world a brighter place, doesn't it??? Have a great week! Hugs to you~
ReplyDeleteFlowers are lookin' good.
ReplyDeleteMustang Sally is my roll down the windows; turn up the volume; cruisin' song!
BJ all your flowers look very pretty to me. I've heard of people in Florida with all their high winds and tropical storms buy flower containers oversized and put a couple large cement blocks inside. It's weighs it down and adds drainage in the pot. I love your new bright Red umbrella. I say a day without music is a snooze and I love and appreciate all kinds of music and play it loud enough so others can appreciate it too ;-) Music surely feeds the soul.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Oh lordy, I hope not, though I can get a little thrill hearing Light My Fire.
ReplyDeleteCrazy wind! We used to laugh at the rain gauge and now we have had a good chuckle at the cement blocks holding down the picnic table. It must be annoying.
Loved seeing the pool pictures, especially the divers! One was an especially good capture with the reflection in the door. Pretty cool!
Your flowers look beautiful! Not a thing wrong with them.
Your pots look so colorful and cheery. I love ' em!
ReplyDeletevery pretty flowers
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have many flower pretties . . .
ReplyDeleteGood idea to keep things hunkered down with the bricks.
I can imagine you appreciate some winwith the high heat temperatures. . . .
Oh I know Little Richard and the Beach Boys!
Wind with
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous, and that cute little barn on the ledge! I love it :>)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, BJ. I especially love those zinnias!
ReplyDeleteYes...love the Beach Boys and Little richard!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
