OH, PEOPLE...
if you haven't seen it, PLEASE DO...
Such an emotional movie, it had me crying thru most of it....
and laughing the rest of the time.
A very kind and sweet blogger left this informative comment I want to share:

It's
one of my favorite movies, though I usually have a few tears during it
:-) Gena Rowlands was fabulous! The house (and setting of the movie)
is in Smithville, TX, east of Austin and in a lovely part of the state.
Here's a link to some photos of the house:

Good actors too, BJ. I enjoyed the movie as well. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it. And by waiting so long, it's probably in the bargain bin by now. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that movie!! I love the house her mother lived in...it reminds me so much of the old house my dad had for years. Wouldn't you love to know where it is?
ReplyDeleteI have not seen it and if it makes you cry... I pass:) I absolutely don't like to cry! One of the days my tear ducts are going to explode! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

I saw it a few years ago, a really good movie!
ReplyDeleteYou know- I don't think I have ever seen that movie, either. But- I don't like to cry....but sometimes do whether I want to or not. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHAVE NOT BEEN TO A MOVIE IN MANY YEARS. THEY JUST HAVE NOT BEEN THE KIND I LIKE. AND TOO, I PROBABLY WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO ACT.
ReplyDeleteWe seldom go to the movies, but I caught this one on TV a few years ago. I positively loved the little girl who played her daughter. And yes, I cried.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the movie. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteOK, you've convinced me! ;)

ReplyDeleteHi BJ,
ReplyDeleteI agree; we have similar taste in films. Thanks for sharing.

I haven't seen this movie....now I feel I must watch it! We watched Heaven is for Real yesterday afternoon, the second time for me, the first time for Mr D. ~ it's an emotional movie too! Have a great week. :)
ReplyDeleteBJ, If this is that movie where the little girl thinks she is going with her father and he drives off.....that tears my heart out. I cry every time I see it ...it actually hurts me . It is a good movie with lots of love. xoxo,Susie

I started Facebook. Haven't forgotten you. Love you long time. I don't know much about Facebook but I am Karen andraski. If you can follow me that way. I still don't have wifi and blogging is too hard to do on phone.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes. Hope Floats is a great movie!
ReplyDeleteHi BJ. I saw that a long time ago and just loved it. Have you seen "The Fault in our Stars"?. That one will have the same effect on you..Happy Monday..Judy
ReplyDeleteSaw it several years ago and loved it!
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's a great movie!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great movie, bj...it's been a while but yes, it was really good. I love Harry Connick, Jr...saw a really good movie on the Hallmark Channel with him and a few old country singers the other night...Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson (he's in bad shape)...anyway was called "Angel's SIng" and it was pretty good!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have seen that movie. I absolutely love Sandra B. You know we southern girls stick together but I have just never cozied up to Harry C. Don't know why....
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see, love the actors!
ReplyDeleteSandra Bullock, she's so pretty. I haven't seen the movie but I like the title....plus your recommendation :)
ReplyDeleteB.J., Thanks so much for stopping by my blog Cottage Making Mommy and yes I would love for you to join our weekly blog party on Saturday, Simple Saturdays. I love following your journey at the summer house. Hope Float rocks and I like anything with Sandra Bullock in it. I wish she would hurry up and make some more movies.

Hi BJ! Hope Floats is a wonderful movie. I saw it many years ago and I enjoyed it from beginning to end... :)
ReplyDeleteI have always loved that movie!!
ReplyDeleteI love this movie and the local connection...Harry Connick's wife Jill Goodacre is from Lubbock.
ReplyDeleteGlenna Maxey Goodacre is a sculptor well known for having designed the obverse of the Sacagawea dollar that entered circulation in the United States in 2000.
Born: 1939, Lubbock, TX
Parents: Homer Glen Maxey
Children: Jill Goodacre
Education: Monterey High School, Colorado College
I googled Goodacre information...not that much of a trivia brainiac :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite Sandra Bullock movies! Have a great week ;)
