Passing by these olden buildings, behind the metal rail fence one day,
I stopped and snapped a few photos.
Isn't it funny how most of us LUV fences, old buildings
and BARNS...
The thing I love about the weekly GOOD FENCES is
the fact that it gets me off my keester and out on the country roads in search
of that SPECIAL fence.
SOMEtimes, I am surprised to find a great fence in places I didn't expect....
and the olden buildings and barns are an added treat.

This beauty, chock full of CHARM, is just about to fall completely down..
it makes me sad...
I am sure that the fella that built it, a long time ago, was SOOO proud of it.
Was there a bell in the little....house on top Or...some kind of pulley...?

ReplyDeleteThat IS an awesome thing about featuring fences each week. I had to take a road trip for an article once and it led my husband and I down the Natchez Trace, which I'd never driven before despite living in Nashville most of my life. I still remember that experience, long after the article was published!
ReplyDeleteI love old barns! You always have great pictures with fences.
ReplyDeleteThat Strawberry Smoothie looks really good.
big hilda better watch her hiney! :)

ReplyDeletelove seeing the old barnes behind the fences...so great to take pictures of these olden things....
ReplyDeleteI am so going to make one of those smoothies for breakfast in the morning. Bet it'd be awesome with yogurt - hope so, don't have any milk. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove that windmill!
ReplyDeleteI figure it was a bell
ReplyDeleteI love the barn with the bell tower. That is so pretty! I'm such a huge fan of old, worn, thing. (Good thing, since I'm becoming older and worn-er with ever minute.)
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of all kinds of barns too! These are some mighty strong fences too!
ReplyDeleteI grew up on a farm and my dad used to say that you could tell a lot about a farmer just by looking at his fence. It seems, a good farmer keeps a well maintained fence. Cows get out due to lazy farmers and a dilapidated fence is often due to a dead farmer. But if you farm or ranch - you are judged by your fence so that is probably the purpose of some of the over the top nice fences.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing I like is bridges. Especially in the snow and ice when icicles hang all over them.
Especially love the fence and water windmill!!! What charm and old-time days it brings to mind.
ReplyDeleteYes! I love Big Hilda! Great fences and charming barn. The strawberry milk smoothie.. oh Yeah! BJ I left a comment on your rubbish post but it didn't show. I am reading.. :)

ReplyDeleteYes, it is sad to see wonderful old barns falling down. I wish they could all be restored to their former glory. As you know, when they're gone, they're gone and never coming back. Love your photos, BJ!
