Birds 2

Hello, everyone...
I've had several emails from bloggers and maybe a few lurkers,
asking about the bird in my header.

I did a post on this last year so this, my friends,
is another infamous RE-RUN...
aka BIRDS 2

EXCUSE MEEEE while I FALL IN LOVE !!

This cute idea came from COUNTRY LIVING magazine...
boy, I just LOVE that magazine.
(GERT...I hope you enjoy YOUR new subscription of this fun magazine.)

At the risk of being run out of Blogland on a rail,
I will take this time, ladies and gents,
to say that I've never, EVER used PLACE CARDS at our table.

But when I saw THESE CUTIES, I decided to make a couple.

I think they are just adorable...
and super, SUPER easy to make.
You can make these, too, if you'd like.
Go  to
http://www.countryliving.com/crafts/projects/easy-paper-craft-projects#slide-4
and, using card stock paper, you can print two birds per page.
Cut out and fold in half as directed.

....using strips of paper 5/16" wide x 6" long, (I just eye-balled it)...
curl the ends around a pencil to get the curl you want...
Write the name you want, looping one end of the paper around the front leg
before sitting it on a plate.

They really are fun to make....

You could print up a stack, go ahead and cut your little strips of paper ahead of time...

Then, just before your dinner, you can write the names and
be ready for them all....
:>)

I don't know why I even THOUGHT of making one for my grandmother...

She died when my mother was only 8.
I think the name EMMA is one of the prettiest ever....and I never gave a thought to it when we named our little baby girl.
I am such an airhead. I  love the name EMMA OLIVIA. However, STACY LEIGH fits my girl just PERFECT !

These really would be cute with a centerpiece of  a
"nest under  glass" along with more bird nests...or little bird houses....or ......

lots of ideas come to mind.

I'm using my mother's CLEAR GLASS VINTAGE CAKE PLATES
for chargers....I love 'em.

Who SEZ you can't use PLACE CARDS and VINTAGE CHARGERS
for a bowl of
APPLE JACKS....???

.....fun having a cute table for our breakfast of CEREAL...:))
 hahhhaaa....LIFE IS GOOD.
...just a little more COPY CAT FUN...

HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY TODAY (8/25)
to KATHY
our sweet daughter*in*law, with her grandgirl, CATE.

  7. I'm back, I just commented on your PS post. We were gone for the weekend.

I adore your bird place cards. They are easy to make too. I seldom use them as well but I am sure tempted to try this little DIY. I think you know I am in love with birds and have them all over my house. I am 'on' this cute idea. As always your photos are always a delight. Especially the Applejacks. HA!

Love you too my sweet friend.

  18. Yep. Debbie must pin this because she wants to copycat. If I saw the first run of this, I've forgotten, and it might have been before that wonderful little place called Pinterest.

  20. Those are so cute, BJ, and I really like the paper you printed them all -- gives them an earthy-artsy (I don't have any idea what I'm talking about, but it sounds good, right?) kind of look. Wow, there certainly are a lot of August birthdays -- we have 4, but we did have 6 when our dads were still alive.
