Say WHAAAT...?

Now, I've had COOKIES AND COFFEE all my life...
and there's not a whole lot of things in this world that's any better....

COOKIES ARE ONE OF MY REASONS FOR LIVING

A favorite is GINGERBREAD COOKIES
and a very dear and loved bloggy friend,
MADDY
aka MADELINE,
sent the following recipe to me in 2011 and
THEY ARE SO WONDERFUL.

"Hi BJ,
Here is my recipe for gingerbread cookies.
All of my children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren love them.
♥ ♥ ♥
   1 cup sugar
   1 cup shortening
   2 teaspoons salt
   2 teaspoons soda
   1 teaspoon baking powder
    3 teaspoons ginger
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1 teaspoon allspice.
    2/3 cup buttermilk
    1 cup molasses (dark)
4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
In large mixing bowl mix all ingredients except flour.  Gradually add flour to mixture.
Chill dough ( I do mine overnight) .  Roll dough on floured surface1/8 inch thick. Cut
with cookie cutters.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to l0
minutes ( I do mine 8 minutes.) Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet.
Have a blessed Sunday.  Happy baking.
                        Sincerely, Madeline

THANK YOU AGAIN, MADDY.

I also love ORANGE COOKIES...

actually, I am trying hard to remember if there's EVER been a cookie I didn't like...

These are made with the fabulous Orange Cake Mix and
right here's the recipe.

I made a powdered sugar, cream cheese and orange juice icing for mine.

I'm not a fan of powdered sugar icings but with cream cheese and orange juice, it kept it from being too sweet.

PRALINE COOKIES
will make ya wanna slap your pappy, they are so good.

If you like praline candy, you are bound to like these little Southern gems...

Click right here
for the Southern Living Magazine Recipe.

Another great blogging buddy,
VEE,
told me how to make
VEE'S MOLASSES COOKIES

I found out later that I made mine too thick...
the next batch were quite a bit thinner and just
delicious.

AND...never rule out COOKIE MIXES...

These chocolate chip cookies from a mix,
with VANILLA...
a touch of CINNAMON...
and a GENEROUS amount of PECANS added,
were just delicious...especially when they came right out of the oven
and a big glass of icy cold milk awaited....:)

 ..

I've never met a coffee  I didn't like except CHICKORY....

WAAAY too bitter.

Coffee and Cookies go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly

and coffee, to ME, taste BEST in a
COOL CUP....

Another sweet blogger, AUDREY,  gifted  me with these vintage
FIRE KING
cups that I love to the moon
 and back.

OK...the whole point of this  SWEET  SWEET  SWEET post
IS.....

A COOKIE ICING made with COFFEE MATE...
whaaaat ?????

Walmart is SUPPOSED to be selling this patriotic NESTLE COFFEE MATE container
until July 4th
but.....I haven't been able to locate one yet..

I would love to have one to put flowers in for the 4th....
but, then again,
I can find SOMEthing around Sweet Nothings to use for a cute vase.

I AM going to make cookies with Coffee Mate Icing very, VERY soon....:)
and, I hope you will go over and meet SARAH, the maker of those awesome cookies above.

Sarah is the mother of NINE (9) CHILDREN...
How awesome is that !!!
big ole HIGH FIVE, SARAH..!! :)

  2. If I make all these delicious recipes . . . and eat them . . . someone is gonna have to roll me down the hall, out to the car to haul me into emergency with a tummy ache. I'll try one recipe at a time. Thank you for all the delicious!

  3. Won't you pass the plate of molasses? These all look delicious, but I'm most taken with Ludwig's black/white coffee mug!
(Most all my coffee mugs have a story behind them, but in this case I'm going to throw caution to the wind and consult Mr. Google.)

  7. I made some bars this weekend that required a glaze. I used half n' half, but a flavored creamer would have made it very special. Thanks for the sweet mention. = D

Way too much spam and people commenting that are stealing my space to post nonsense so.....no comments allowed.
So sorry but I have no other choice.
I love my blogging friends and most of all my family but these spam prone people are so rude and selfish have made my blogging not nearly as much fun..
