I had my second COLONOSCOPY last week ...
got a wonderful report....all is well and healthy with the colon.
Ya know, the doctors are urging everyone to get this test when they reach 50.
The worst part of getting this test is the liquids you must drink to flush out your system.
A lot of fluids and then time "ON THE BATHROOM THRONE".....
On the morning or afternoon of the colonoscopy, you will be put to sleep for a little while
and know nothing of the test.
If you are OF AGE...aka 50, please make an appointment TODAY...
Blue Monday
I just HAD to add this comment from my sweet blogging young man, Adam...

a co-worker of mine had colon cancer, but it was sorta late in the game. When he came back from surgery and recovery, he said he had a semi-colon.
hahhhaaa, gotta love it, Adam...!!

ANOTHER IMPORTANT COMMENT: 6/3
Sonya Badgley has left a new comment on your post "Not a Pleasant Subject.....but......":
Hi BJ, Yes, it is really important. No fun at all!! But neither is Colon Cancer! My Mom came down with colon cancer at 69. She NEVER had a colonoscopy! It had spread to her lymph nodes as well. Even though she had surgery it ended up spreading to her lungs. I've had my checked the first time at 43 (because of her) and I'm good till age 53. I will for sure go back, even though it is very unpleasant. :)
Thanks for posting about something very important.
Happy Blue Monday! Sonya
"Thanks so much for sharing, Sonya."
I'm glad I am not due for awhile yet. They really aren't so bad - the getting put to sleep part is fantastic! So glad you are good to go -- or I should say had good results -- oh, I better stop now. LOL
ReplyDeleteHaven't yet tried a colonoscopy. Thanks for reminding.

I am almost there, bj. I am glad your report was good. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI had mine! Happy to say all was well! The worst part is the drinking and drinking and going and going! The actual test isn't bad at all! Anyway, glad I had it done and good for you! Have a blessed day dear B.J.! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMorning BJ,
ReplyDeleteOh, I know all about this test; I've had it twice. You're right. The worst part is the preparation. Thanks for sharing your blue today.
Happy Blue Monday!
Thanks for sharing this important news with us. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteI've had one and while it isn't fun it is very important! Thanks for encouraging others to get this test!
ReplyDeleteI have had one but am definitely overdue for another. I have no excuse...I get them free as a perk from working in the hospital. So, what's my problem anyway? No real problem. I need to be like NIKE and "just do it"! Thanks for the reminder, bj :)
ReplyDeleteglad yours was a good report!
ReplyDeleteExcellent reminder! I am glad you got a good report!

ReplyDeleteI am okay BJ, but am using a loaner computer today. I have never been so frustrated and stressed ever. The man said this was a first problem for him. Sees Dell has a W8 driver in my W7 and it is causing all kinds of problems. I cannot return it and did not take out their high dollar warranty. I have never had one of these test and at my age probably not. Happy to hear all was well with you.
ReplyDelete2 down...don't need another one for 5 years!
ReplyDeleteWell alright, *sigh* not something I'm looking forward to but I'll look into it. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI am laughing out loud at the not-so-funny in real life comment about the semi-colon. I have one scheduled for the end of the month and I am NOT looking forward to it. Have a mammo next week and just had the skin check. Thanks for reminding us to get these things done- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteGlad all was well with your colonoscopy. Good reminder to everyone. Mine is due again later this year.
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is going to be treasured for years to come!

I'm due to have mine done soon. So glad your report was good!
ReplyDeleteMy SIL finally got her first one at 65 and found out she had rectal cancer and it's incurable. She has had a horrible year, and it seems to be worse now. So yes...it is very important to get Colostomy!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm like you..I hate the drinking of the "stuff" ...
Blessings,
Gert
A good subject to share. My childhood friend who I have known since we were put into a playpen together, seriously, is a colon cancer survivor. I always enjoy my visits here. With summer here it is hard to get on the blog. But I try to visit all the Blue Monday participates weekly. Whewwwwww! Have a great weekend!
