4 ripe bananas and Kitty's recipe

One of my favorite places to go to gather good recipes is
Not only has every single recipe of hers that I've tried turned out
exactly as I expected it to,
she is such a total joy to visit.
You should stop by to see her sometime and you will
come away with a grin on your face and a smile in your heart.
She's a grandmother like so many of us are and, also like us,
she loves her kids and grandkids with all her heart.

I used her recipe and my 4 ripe bananas
some pecans
some chocolate chips

 some fresh buttermilk...
it makes EVERYthing taste like a million bucks.

I got the batter all mixed,
and poured it into the
loaf pan.....

Her recipe right here.

speaking of measuring and mixing,

aren't these measuring cups/spoons
just the cutest....

While the bread baked to a golden goodness,
Mr. Sweet made us

 breakfast...

He chopped
Poblano peppers
for the scrambled eggs...

ooo, they are so flavorful...very mild...and really add a lot to just about any dish.

put bacon on to fry....UMMMM Good.

"The poblano (Capsicum annuum) is a mild chili pepper originating in the state of Puebla, Mexico. Dried, it is called ancho or chile ancho, from the Mexican Spanish name ancho ("wide") or chile ancho ("wide chile").
Stuffed fresh and roasted it is popular in chile rellenos poblanos."
( I love CHILE RELLENOS with an absolute passion)

By the time we finished breakfast,
that Banana Bread baking had our whole house smelling sooo delicious..

It took all I had not to slice a big piece while it was still warm
and gobble it up with a cup of steaming hot coffee...
and lots of BUTTER on that bread....
in fact, I am working on another bunch of fairly ripe bananas
to make another loaf for RIGHT NOW....

but I wanted to have it, warmed, on Christmas Eve night when family was here...

sooo...being the good girl that I am,
I wrapped it and put it in a freezer bag and into the freezer.

My family is going to thank you for the recipe, Kitty....
and I thank you, too.

     LOVE, bj

  6. I am roasting pumpkins today for the added warmth and future pumpkin breads. If I had bananas... You sure showed remarkable restraint! Wowzer...what a breakfast Mr. Sweet served. Merry on, my dear...

  7. I agree with Jeanie. I must quit reading this before breakfast especially when I've gotten home the night before and have some frozen bread and peanut butter to serve! A great post, BJ. hugs, Jackie

  8. You are stronger than me, BJ. That banana bread would long since have been in my stomach, not the freezer.

  21. The banana bread smells delicious - even from here. Breakfast looks amazing. Chili Rellanos are my absolute favorite Mexican food. I order them everywhere we go and eat Mexican. There's a great place here in Tulsa - if you ever come this direction we'll go there for lunch, OK?

    Merry Christmas!

  22. Ooh my, bj, you touch my heart by your kind and thoughtful words. I am truly humbled and honored, and I thank you so very much.
Mr. Sweet's breakfast looks so tasty. Do you know that my late Beloved absolutely adored chile rellenos? He always ordered them at Mexican restaurants. Enjoy that banana bread with your family on Christmas Eve! xxoo

  23. Love Banana Bread, but I hardly ever make it. Harvey usually manages to eat all the bananas before they are ripe enough.

    The eggs look marvelous.

    God bless.
