I love our little 4' table top tree...
We have always had a 7 ft. one but donated it several yrs ago
when it became a job to take it up the attic stairs to store every yr.
I love a LOT of decorations on our tree...
you can barely see the tree itself.
...and I LUV using a lot of RED...
These paper snowflakes are some of my favorite things on the tree..
I made these about 3 yrs ago and I pack them away very carefully ea yr.
so they still look great...
This little clown and a few more ornaments on our tree
belonged to my mama...
she has been gone almost 30 yrs and she had the little ornaments
for years before that.
♥ ♥ ♥
I hang her picture in this little stocking every Christmas.
We all miss our loved ones all the time but especially at Christmas, it seems.
Having her photo there is bittersweet...
I like having it there and yet, it makes me sad because I miss her so.
It's ok, tho...just part of living...and I'm thankful for all my good memories.
LOVE, bj
I love your little tree, too!! Everything you do looks great!!
ReplyDeleteLooking a lot like Christmas at the bj homestead . . .
ReplyDeleteLove those huge snowflakes and precious saved clown
you have from your mom. Sweet photo of her too.
Christmas brings the memories right up forefront
and fills us with love and warmth . . .
even a few tears too . . .
Christmas blessings bj . . .
Beautiful, BJ. Right down to the red cardinals on the skirt. Just lovely. Ours is a four foot table tree, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea using a smaller tree like that and yours is so cute! Love your paper snowflake ornaments. I know what you mean about pictures of loved ones being bittersweet. It hurts to know they're gone but we are blessed to have had them while we did. I too am a big fan of red especially at Christmas! Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! Lovely pic of your mom, too...Merry, merry!!
ReplyDeleteThe tree is so pretty and festive!
ReplyDeleteOh BJ, I just read another blogger buddy's post about Christmas ghosts, those wonderful folks who no longer brighten our holiday season. . .isn't it wonderful though that God built us all with hearts big enough to hold wonderful and warm memories of them all, so they really aren't at all missing from the celebrations. . .they'll always be a part of them! Hugs to you my special friend. Jackie
ReplyDeleteOh BJ, I love your tree, you always make things so festive!! We too, donated our larger tree one year and got a smaller one. It sets on a table in front of our big window! My kids brought it out this year and set it up while hey we're here over Thnaksgiving! Last year I just couldn't do it. They just did it!!! No protesting from me..and I'm so glad the did..I've always loved Christmas and the lights of the tree especially! Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert

ReplyDeleteLisa is so right! You are the goodwill ambassador of Blogdom. Your posts just make me grin. Your mom raised a good'un in you! We sure do miss our loved ones, but have that firm hope that we shall see them again. For that reason, we can focus on our families and friends knowing that memories are precious for everyone! You are creating such happy memories for your family and friends. Love, love, love your happy tree!
