or if you DO.....keep it quite.
Most of you know that I am not crafty...in any form or fashion.
....totally talentless
but we have a pottery place here called
THE CLAY CAFE
THE CLAY CAFE
and you buy a piece there, paint it, and they fire it for you.
One of my Bunco groups decided that we would have a lot of fun doing this together...
and we did.
Daughter Stacy, Deeds and I didn't finish so we went back
a few days later and spent another 2 hours, painting together.
(too busy to take photos....SHOOT...)
I picked mine up today, after a long day of running errands and etc.
I chose this little plate and TRIED to do a stencil of the three little houses....
it didn't go too well
but, gosh, it was fun.
Loved hanging with my girls...
and I loved those three little whimsical houses.....so I just went for it.
I think I might have chosen a piece with such tiny painting surfaces
(as those little windows and the roofs...)
that I had a little bit of a hard time making it neat...
but I like it anyway.
I like it because it will remind me always
of the fun time we had......together.
By the time I got home, I was hot and ready for an afternoon snack...
*
I can't paint...nor sew...nor sing...
but if I let THAT stop me from doing things...
look what fun with my girls I would have missed.

Oh my goodness, why would we laugh!? The plate is adorable BJ! I have never believed you when you say you don't have a talent for making things, I just don't. I have seen too many of your cute projects and beautiful decorating. I love this, truly I do, and if you were selling them I would be first in line to buy.
ReplyDeleteBJ, and now it's truly YOURS! I did a little pitcher with apples on it at one of these places, and now my daughter treasures it in her collection of pitchers.

I think they have a place like that here too, I can't remember for sure
ReplyDeleteOh what fun you had! I don't think it's funny, it simply looks like a 'naive' art plate! I have one I cherish that my DD made when she was a teen and it's a pretty lady. I love yours and it'll look darling in the kitchen wall.
ReplyDeleteLoved your sweet visit pretty lady.
Have a happy weekend.
FABBY
I think your pottery piece is darling.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteI think the plate turned out really cute, BJ, and what fun to paint with daughter and granddaughter!....Christine
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun piece . . . and every time you look at it you'll remember your painting time with your friends.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a very fine piece of "whimsical" to add to your collections . . .
I love the piece you made at the Clay Cafe. There is a Clay Cafe in Fredericton too and I've always wanted to go there just for fun. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your plate!! Will look great with your "checks"!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like something you'd see in a boutique, I think it would sell!
ReplyDeleteI think the little houses and the black dots are whimsical and will make you smile whenever you look at the plate. I would like to do that at a paint your pottery place.
ReplyDeleteThose places are so fun. My DIL and I went to one of those paint and wine places and we had so much fun. The painting is a fun reminder of a great time and it is not nearly as good as your ceramic. I love both the Milne quote and the one from Erma.
ReplyDeleteRB float and pb crackers!! Yum! Thank you for joining Home Sweet Home!
