He woke up with a terrible cold...
nothing makes you feel as bad as an old cold.
The thing I worry about is that it's in his chest, too.
Pneumonia is very scary to an olden person and I sure don't want
him to get it.
He feels too bad to go to the doctor today...
just feels rotten.
Maybe tomorrow.....
In the meantime...
The doctors say there really is healing in CHICKEN SOUP..
I know they probably mean
HOMEMADE soup...
but no chicken to boil....
and 2 large cans of Campbells...
...and we all know the healing power of Vitamin C
I fixed my silly self a large bowl ..... just in case. :)
I would love to know that you are saying a small prayer for Mr. Sweet.
It becomes much harder for an 80 year old to shake anything....
even a simple, common cold.
THANK YOU !
Oh how sorry I am to hear this. Homemade chicken soup works wonders....the Italian wedding soup or a homemade chicken pot pie. A prayer for being resored to good health is coming you way....please take care and stay warm! Sending a hug too!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear he is not feeling well. Praying for strength and quick recovery. Colds are the worst!! And yes, having it turn into pneumonia is so scary.
ReplyDeletei'm sorry. i hope it doesn't turn worse. :)
ReplyDeleteHe's in my thoughts and prayers, BJ. I can't imagine anyone taking better care of him than you. Deb
ReplyDeleteHi Maam Sweet Bj,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to know Sir Sweet is having a cold. I have colds too. Got this when I woke up yesterday. But I am only 56 (soon). So, guess I cope up better that Sir Sweet, physically matter.
Boil fresh ginger, honey and lemon is the best remedy (Filipino way).
Hugs to both our Sweet in blogsphere.

You are a good nurse, Hope he gets better
ReplyDeleteI have pneumonia....it's not fun. Best wishes to your hubby...
ReplyDeleteBalisha
Oh, I really know what you are talking about. Pneumonia is awful. Had it once, and don't want it again. Hopefully, the soup will hasten the healing!!
ReplyDeleteI love chicken noodle soup! Prayers sent for sure!!
ReplyDeleteBJ, Looks like you are doing your best for the MR. I will send him hugs and prayers. It is getting scary, the horrid things that can make us really sick. Take care of yourself too. Blessings to you both, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Mr. Sweet is down with a cold. My hubby and I are just getting over it too...it has got be so much harder when you're 80...praying he is well soon! And about the soup...I don't know that I have ever seen "Dry Egg Noodle Recipe" on the can before. Is there a difference between that and just plain ol' Campbell's Noodle Soup??
ReplyDeleteI'm praying BJ. Poor Mr. Sweet. :>( I sure hope he feels better fast...and that it misses you entirely!
ReplyDeleteSure hope he feels better soon. Lifting him in prayer.
ReplyDeleteI hope he feels better soon! I always love this soup and even chicken broth when I'm sick. Sweet hugs...stay warm!
ReplyDeletePrayers for Mr, Sweet. Germs this season are relentless, still sick since Christmas. Use EmergenC? I've started it.
ReplyDeleteBe well.
xoxo,
Vera

ReplyDeletePraying for your dearest that he'll be well very soon and that you won't catch it either. Hugs. Pam
ReplyDeleteSaid a prayer for him. I have gotten up the last two days with a sore throat and sniffles, now a cough, by hubby is insisting I go to the doctor. Maybe in the morning, but it's going to be 14 degrees. Yiks!
ReplyDeleteWill say prayers for Mr. Sweet. I know how a 80 year feels, will be 80 in July. I try to stay away from people that are coughing and go the other way. I always wipe down the grocery cart with the wipes and stay out of crowds. I had pneumonia 5 years ago and almost died and it's not fun. So take good care of Mr Sweet and give him lots of Homemade chicken broth.
ReplyDeleteMary
I'm sending one up for you Mr. Sweet.
ReplyDeleteHope he gets better fast -- your cooking will do the trick!! I'm on week two of the cough, but feel so much better. Take care, Sally
ReplyDeleteI hope he recovers from his cold. I know even as a 20 something they are not fun, I can imagine that's probably ten times less fun for him.
ReplyDeleteAlso noticed you had some of those cuties citrus clementines/mandarins. Those are the best. They kind of ruin regular oranges for me. Like Honeycrisp apples doesn't make me want any other apple
I SEND UP A PRAYER FOR MR SWEET. THIS YEAR A LOT OF FOLKS ARE VERY SICK. HOPE ITS ONLY A COLD.
ReplyDeleteJean, I'm so sorry prayers for you and the Mr. We too have it here.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Oklahoma,
Valerie
I hope Mr. Sweet will be feeling better soon, and that you don't come down with it. I believe that Chicken Noodle Soup really does help, and even if it didn't, it tastes good. So it helps psychologically. It is 7 degrees outside right now, and so many people around here are sick. It makes me sure we will not be going to any restaurants or fast food places for quite some time. I get paranoid that workers there might not be washing their hands as well as we would like for them to before touching the food. When I go to any stores I slather Purell on my hands when I get back out to the car.
ReplyDeleteI'm sending healing thoughts you and Mr. Sweet's way. Take care and stay cozy.
Susie D.
Praying right now for dear Mr. Sweet! He's got a very compassionate helpmate!
ReplyDeleteI'm honored to join with Mr. Sweet's prayer warriors, BJ!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I used to sort of scoff at that chicken-soup theory ... until I discovered the most amazing chicken matzah ball soup at a nearby deli. Now, come the first sore-throat of the season we go running for take-out. Take good care of you, too, please?
wishing him a speedy recovery….he's got a good caretaker for sure!! Love your pics!
ReplyDeleteIf he has it in his chest so quickly make him go to the doctor. I miss good ole chicken noodle soup.......darn celiac.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Mr Sweet and you too! This has been a bad year for flu so eat that chicken soup!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Prayers for both of you. Chicken soup is perfect and lots of rest. Oh and drink ton's of fluids.
ReplyDeleteNonie
I hope you both feel better real soon. Yes, drinking plenty of water and chicken soup is really good, especially if you add onions and garlic to it, they are natural antibiotics. Another thing that is quite helpful is ............ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHGqL-Evsrc
ReplyDeleteIt really helps and is tasty, too.
I pray your guy is back to his old self soon...be healthy, both of you. I think hot "anything" is good for a cold. Some tea with honey is great...it coats the throat so the coughing doesn't irritate it. I know you will take good care of him, BJ!
ReplyDeleteJane x
I know you will keep a good eye on your hubs . . . so much flu going around right now.

ReplyDeleteI am just on the other side of a 2 month bout with pneumonia and it's not much fun for a 50 year old to heal from it either. I will keep him in my good thoughts.
