OK...
I suppose we ALL know
CEREAL is much better for us than CREAMED GRAVY.
I love cereal...and to remind us to eat it several times a week, I leave the little packets or boxes
in a plastic container on the island.
Bowls are always close by...
but THESE are my downfall.
Summer House, we are loving using cute paper plates....
paper napkins....I love these cute WATERMELON ones.
even THROW AWAY plastic flatware....
Boy, it's really cut down on dish washing.
I found these TURQUOISE solo cups at Walmart (*HIGH FIVE, WALMART)
and they look pretty cool with those TURQUOISE place mats that I bought at The Dollar Tree.
Even these little paper plates have a hint of turquoise color around the edges.
While the biscuits were baking on this morning,
it started to RAIN and I was sooo happy....
...looking out my dining room window...
a little rain and the Crepe Myrtles are still in full, beautiful bloom.
This is a little RANDOM
(it was sitting by that container of the CEREAL)
here but just to say that this lotion from
BATH & BODY WORKS
is sooo good.
Smells great and
besides all that,
I LOVE the bottle.
OK...back to the BISCUITS.
Aren't these beautiful ?......AND...they are the FROZEN ONES.
The ones you can keep in your freezer and when that
BISCUIT HUNGER
hits ya....you are READY FOR IT.
These, smothered in butter and jelly are bad enuf....
(or GOOD enuf)
but sometimes.....
you just need a little more than butter and jelly.
PLEASE tell me that eating biscuits and gravy only about 3 or 4 times a year
WON'T MAKE THE WORLD TURN ANY SLOWER....!!!
It seems like every single time I start eating like this,
the NUTRISYSTEM ad comes on tv. !!!
******************************************************
*if you don't have a little bacon grease
to make your gravy, you CAN use
butter. Actually, it's probably better
for us....not sure about that, tho.

I always liked the little boxes of cereal. I often get tired of the same cereal before the big box is gone.
ReplyDeleteSometimes for breakfast I make some white sauce, pop a potato in the microwave and call that a great start to the day! Biscuits and gravy feed the soul-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you are . . . no matter, 2-3 times a year, no problem.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it be, the important thing is to ENJOY!
Love your Scarlett pic - made me laugh :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of using paper plates now and then - it seems like a picnic!
ReplyDeleteOooh..I'm with you BJ. I love those biscuits and I can't stop at one, either. Biscuits and jam might be on my 'last meal' list. :) Deb
ReplyDeleteI actually think the biscuits and gravy are as good for you, if not better than the cereal. The smell of biscuits baking and the rain outside must have been just lovely. Enjoy and don't feel guilty one little bit. I'd mute that darn commercial ;>)
ReplyDeleteOnly 3 or 4 times a year? You are doing ok. I wish I could eat cereal, but don't like the milk.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend.
Oh yes those darn commercials that remind me I could stand to lose a few! Biscuits are so good in the morning smothered with butter and fresh raspberry jam...yes? Have a great weekend bj!
ReplyDeleteI am quite a chubby little nugget and I've never had gravy for breakfast so THAT can't be it. Keep right on enjoying what you enjoy a few times a year. Quality of life counts, too!
ReplyDeleteOnly 3 or 4 times a year?? Heck, I can beat that! I make sausage gravy with those little packets...Williams, I think?...and serve over biscuits every now and then on the weekend. Yeah, I know cereal is better for me, but eating something healthy every single day can be so boring sometimes! lol! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a way for me to wake up with a smile. (And now, a healthy appetite thankyouverymuch.) Truth be told, I would opt for the gravy over the cereal just about every day if I could.
ReplyDeleteGravy and biscuits remind me of my Dad. He was also known to smother biscuits with sorghum molassas.
ReplyDeleteBiscuits and gravy was one of mine and my husband favorite. Now I eat cereal (cheerios) and fruit for breakfast most mornings and on other mornings I have one egg and fruit. Since my health scare 4 years ago I try my best to eat healthy. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteBiscuits and gravy - yum! To keep from eating too much, I fry up a pound of sausage, then divide it into four portions. Three of them go in bags for the freezer, and I use jut 1/4 of the sausage to make my gravy. The other bags can be used for scrambled eggs or for another round of b and g. Frozen biscuits are a great plan.
ReplyDeleteI love snacking on sweet cereal but prefer biscuits without gravy:) Enjoy your weekend dear B.J. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteNothing better than biscuits, gravy and country ham.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, you must be talking 'manna from Heaven' when you're talking biscuits and gravy, BJ
ReplyDelete... just one of my Achielle's heels (sigh).
I've not enjoyed cereal in ages, but used to enjoy having Grape Nuts for supper. Those bowls are precious!
LOL..the gravy biscuits look scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they don't have any calories, since they are freezer biscuits :)
Yum! My husband makes the most amazing biscuits and gravy with sausage. Definitely not on my diet! Luckily he doesn't make them often. I'm not much of a breakfast eater--if I eat it, it's usually for dinner.
ReplyDeleteBiscuits and gravy..should be declared a food group. My husband has diabetes and he won't eat cereal because of all the sugar and hidden sugar in them..he does eat bacon and eggs though. so we usually have that for breakfast. It's too hard to fix gravy for one, so I rarely eat it except when we are on vacation. But I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteOh I love cereal but sometimes biscuits and gravy just make my morning so great I have too! Yum! Love the cute napkins!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Turn of the t.v.! I love those frozen biscuits. I can't make biscuits so they are better than mine. My work has that lotion and the body spray in the bathroom. The spray hasn't lasted near as long as previous scents! Everyone loves it! As always a yummy post! I love visiting you! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSherry
I love the frozen biscuits ... and of course gravy, especially if we have sausage, because I need gravy on my sausage too. Making me hungry just talking about it. I may just have that for Sunday breakfast after Church. We always eat breakfast out on Sunday. I love the place mats from Dollar store ... hope they have them here.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.
I think the biscuits and gravy beat cereal any day! But then, I'm not a cereal fan. It would be so easy. I wish I liked it. I just don't. LOL
ReplyDeleteFor breakfast M-F I'm a yogurt girl, weekends are a treat with eggs. Your biscuits look yummy, zillions of years ago (40) I lived in Tennessee for awhile and I remember the incredible biscuits and gravy served everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those biscuits are delicious, shadows and all!
ReplyDeleteAncient Shadows
Just my opinion, BJ, but I think fat is far less harmful than sugar (though I do try to go easy on both!). My dad ate bacon and eggs and buttered toast nearly every morning of his life and he maintained a healthy weight, without ever giving it a thought, all of his long life. My cream gravy doesn't have all that much fat in it, just 2 tablespoons for about 1 1/2 cups. With sausage, I just drain off all the fat then add back the amount needed. But I eat oatmeal most mornings just because it's so easy!
ReplyDeleteI am SO hungry for biscuits! I may have to get some buttermilk at the store and make some! Happy Sunday my friend! Queen Biscuit lady!
ReplyDeleteIf I had the energy to make gravy in the mornings I would! But Cereal is on the menu except for Sundays....I do try and make something more for the family. Great pic!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried biscuits with gravy - it must be a very southern USA treat - and it looks yummy! I like my biscuits hot-from-the-oven, dripping with butter and molasses - that is a very east coast Canada treat!
ReplyDeleteHi BJ. I hope you can locate a hummingbird plant today.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this post and had been thinking that a biscuit would be good for a snack tonight! We ate at Cracker Barrel Restaurant recently and enjoyed gravy with our biscuits. Thanks for telling us about the lotion; I love to shop at Bath & Body Works!
As for cereal, my husband is diabetic and most all cereal has high sugar content. Oddly, plain Cheerios have the lowest sugar but I get so tired of them! Wishing you a nice week. Mildred
Biscuits and gravy are da bomb. Bob Evans had a giveaway once, two little stuffed dogs named Biscuits and Gravy. My son had them when he was little.
ReplyDeleteHey BJ,
ReplyDeleteIt's fun being your twin (from another mother!) We really DO have a good deal in common!
I've had those bisquits, but I'm not supposed to eat them (because of diabetes). (Ah well.)
December will be extra fun for us! Thanks for sharing.
Have a Happy Blue Monday!
Hi from Blue Monday. Have a good week,

Oh, my goodness! There are those blessed biscuits again! ;)
