But, before I get to the cute little thrift store find.....
****************
(I still just love the can that Clabber Girl Baking Powder comes in....love the graphics...I always want to take a pic of it when I'm using it...) ...go figure !!
and I just wanted to remind you that.....
I made a cast iron skillet full as I wanted some left over...
for later...
so after breakfast,
...I put 3 in 4 little bags so that on the days
I woke up hungry for a homemade biscuit,
I had them already made
and.....
Here's the cutest little metal tea kettle
I found in the thrift store....
I thought it was so cute with it's wooden handle and little knob on the lid...
even with the little rusted spot on the spout....
...any time I can bring cuteness home for 3 bucks, I am happy.
I agree about the Clabber Girl can! So few things come in their old cans anymore, I feel like I should save them!
ReplyDeleteYour biscuits look amazing. :)
Nice find. I'm always taken aback then they say I get a senior discount in addition to the already give away price.
ReplyDeleteOh I love a good thrift store find. That Kettle is darling! I see a lot of kettles when I go to the goodwill but Im always looking for white like the one your found. I also like the speckled or galvanized .
ReplyDeleteYou probably already know this but, a magic eraser will remove that marker mark.
Great find! Hope your feeling good.
Lisa
What a cute kettle! I keep buttermilk biscuits in the freezer too....for when I crave a sausage biscuit which sounds good now! heehee! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBJ, I will be over for some of those biscuits....wish I could my friend. :):) I love your new kettle. That nice big wooden handle is great. If you would stick a skewer into the dirt of your plant in the back, just tall enough you can hang the lid to show behind your plant. I have put fake flowers in the kettle on the fireplace and lean the lid up behind it.:) I have not been junking for some time, sure do miss going with my old buddy from work. The kettle I use in the kitchen I got at a yard sale for 5 dollars. Love finding deals. Stay cool there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I never forget your hint! Now this post has reminded me that I have blueberry muffins in the freezer and I’m hungry. Adorable little tea pot and cute use for it.
ReplyDeleteGreat hint about the biscuits. Soon I'll have a kitchen again and hopefully I'll be inspired to use it! Cute teapot and I like what you did with it.
ReplyDeleteOh those biscuits! Yummy!! That little tea kettle, you put flowers in it! Such a cute idea! I would love the kettle and the flowers, but never would have considered putting them together. I can copy other peoples ideas but my mind just doesn't come up with stuff like that! It's really cute!
ReplyDeleteNever knew keeping the dough wet makes them better. Will be trying that trick for sure.
ReplyDeleteHow good buttermilk biscuits taste! Yours look so yummy. What a cute little tea kettle.
ReplyDeletegoodness gracious....now I'm craving hot buttery biscuits again!! ha ha LOL Yours truly look wonderful
ReplyDeleteHomemade biscuits are my downfall. Making them and freezing them is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to put them in the freezer, you know I have not ever done that. Have brought them frozen.
ReplyDeleteI want to thank You for the comment on my quilts. I am not receiving these comments in my email. I am receiving the ones I comment on your blog. Will have to investigate.
No the quilts are not to expensive to get quilted where I go a queen is around sixty dollars just for quilting then to have them bind it is thirteen.
Nothing better than homemade biscuits with honey and crispy bacon. I never learned to make them, but my mother made the best from scratch. Enjoy one for me.
ReplyDeleteBJ, I make up several recipes of biscuits, then freeze them. My guy like to have them frequently, so they are always on hand. Do the same with French toast. Love your new thrifty find.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Sarah, for your visit...never thought about freezing French toast..and I love it...must give that tip a try..xo
DeleteThree dollar bargain and perfect for a plant or two.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy those biscuits with some fresh jam!
