CHRISTMAS GROOVE, that is...
Since this is the table we eat at most of the time,
I didn't go overboard on the Christmas magic.
I will dress it down for every day...and dress it up for CHRISTMAS EVE....
I will dress it down for every day...and dress it up for CHRISTMAS EVE....
I layerd this pretty, NEW, runner over my white tablecloth.
Burlap and Lace...SOOO SWOON WORTHY...!
I nearly always use a cloth on my table..I am not fond of brown furniture
and while my dining chairs are a creamy off-white, which I LOVE,
the table is brown oak...my least favorite wood
sooo...
I love cloths with pretty runners.

Having so many cute Christmas cups and mugs, I decided to just use them,
along with some cute Christmas plates.
I love using What and Who owls along with the Christmas holly and evergreens.
They actually appear a little LOST here...
They have been on the same table since they came to live at Sweet Nothings...
now, surroundings seemed strange to the little fellas...
but, then, they spied ME and felt right at home.
Over the years, I've collected so many adorable
Christmas dessert/breakfast plates...
♥
How wonderful this time of year...
loved ones close by....decorations abound and most often evoke the best memories....
I miss my parents and other loved ones, especially this time of year...but I'm so happy to have such a wonderful family close by.
Christmas past...
one can get downright hysterical with missing those times...
We just have to be thankful for those times and cherish the memories.
It's fun, having the cups and plates all out and handy and
LOOKIN' GOOD...:)
YEP...I know this photo is in here twice..
just making sure you drooled over my Burlap and Lace...
:>)
It's so much fun posting Christmas going-ons...
and reading all about YOUR decorating and cooking...
I love using special cups and dishes for the holidays. You have so many pretty things! I'll be right over! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table setting. Your burlap and lace runner is very nice. The owls look so cute in the setting you put them. Love all your cute plates and cups. Have a blessed evening. Madeline
ReplyDeleteLove all you plates and mugs! Lace and burlap...pretty!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a secret for caring for the burlap? I really like the look of the burlap and the lace. I had a chunkmof burlap tossed in my window that acted like a rustic curtain, but was mostly a sun shade. I'd consider doing it through all seasons if I could dress it up some. I don't like curtains, hence the burlap. Bet I know what you want for Christmas...
ReplyDeleteIt is all so CHRISTMASY!!!! I love having Christmas dishes and glasses and mugs and napkins! No paper for me when I can have the real thing!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to jump on the Burlap Wagon......but I do love YOURS!!!
You know I am on a Christmas mug mission! I love the Christmas dessert plates. That is what I use also!
ReplyDeleteThat burlap and lace is definitely swoon worthy! Love all your fun plates and mugs!

Your Christmas plates and mugs are so cute but I really love your table runner. I like the idea of a cloth with a runner. You've inspired me to look for a new runner for this year. I'm trying to use what I have and not buy new decorations but I don't think a table runner counts. Do you?

Your table is so festive, I love the burlap and lace runner! And all of those cute plates!! I sigh when I see the new ones that come out each year from Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma. I never break down and buy them, I have too many dishes as it is!!
ReplyDeleteI have to get to decorating this weekend, I have been focusing on gift shopping and the time is getting away from me! I hope you're enjoying the holiday season! :)
Jane xx
I'm loving your burlap and lace runner, bj, and all your happy Christmas decor. Yes, it's important to remember our memories from the past and enjoy the present ones. I read somewhere that that's why it's called the "present" because it's a gift.
ReplyDeleteLove your happy blog! Thanks so much for being a bright spot in my day!
ReplyDeleteSome lovely decorations! I'm not a plate collector, as already have so many from my mom and hubby's. But I always think I'll pick up some Christmas ones to use. Never have done it. Like your owls.
ReplyDeleteI have a few Christmas cups. My favorite is a glass one with Charlie Brown and Snoopy
ReplyDeleteYour table is as cute as can be. I love all you sweet little plates. Those owls are so darned cute!!!! I now wish I had a couple of my mother's owls. She collected them and they were all disposed of when she passed away.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Saturday, bj. xo Diana
So, so pretty. I love Christmas dishes but have never bought any - because I just can't seem to justify buying something to be used only once a year. Plus - we normally use big, heave paper plates. I do get those in Christmas designs. But - it's pretty boring compared to your table.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love that nice tablecloth for Christmas, nice design, excellent photos!
ReplyDeleteHow I would love to come and "break bread" at your adorablely set table and glance across seeing your smiling face.
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Vera
BJ, I AM drooling over your burlap and lace! I've never seen anything like it. Might have to make one for myself.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely drooling. Everything looks so festive, and I wish I lived close enough to drop by for a visit - and a cup of coffee, of course.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, dear BJ.♥
BJ, You are right about missing our loved ones who have gone on. It breaks my heart at times. We are lucky to have our memories. Some times when in town, I"ll drive by our old house , thinking of my parents. I love all your cute Christmas things. The owls are adorable too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteBJ,
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas table with all your adorable Christmas plates, dear friend!!!
The What and Who owls are so~o~o stinkin' cute!!!
L O V E your choice of blog page with that charming Santa as the topper!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Your table is so pretty! I love this Christmasy post!
ReplyDeleteI miss those loved ones who are no longer here, too. My family is small now, but we have huge fun together during the holidays and we especially love Christmas.
Enjoy your weekend!
Hi dear bj, Your Santas' are so darling on your header. Your table and all of your pretty things look festive and fun. The owls are so cute as well. I love the lace and burlap. Girl, you are with it!!!. I too have a 9 foot burlap runner I just love. No lace though. Sigh. A sweet friend made it for me.
ReplyDeleteI too get so nostalgic thinking of my parents and family members I loved so much who are no longer with us. It is hard when you loved the ones now gone and we are missing them so much. I too have so many loving memories and for that I am blessed.
Enjoy the Christmas festivities my dear sister friend.
Love, Jeanne
I am definitely drooling over the burlap and lace and the little owls.

Oooh, the lace on your runner is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI like you miss plate collector! You are giving me a post idea too . . .
ReplyDeleteThis made me know I need to out and find some new Christmasy looking plates to add to my others. A woman can never ever have enough holiday plate finery . . .
