Fun lunch with the GIRLS...I love my friends ♥

WARNING....... this post is so full of CALORIES, you may weight 14 lbs more at the end of the post. ......just sayin'

 Hello, everyone...
Some of you might know that I play in two Bunco parties every month...so fun.

I play with ladies mostly my age in one group...and sometime during the month, some of us that can, get together for lunch...so fun.
This particular time we chose to have lunch at a local TEA ROOM that has
O SO GOOD food, especially desserts.
This is Martha..her hair has just grown back from losing it thru chemo...it's curly and so cute on her.

I had this quiche that was so good, I could have eaten
many more slices...but....
saving room for..dessert.

Another Martha...I worked with her at the title company for about 10 years
and we still love each other.
I've known Mary for several years and love her to pieces.
 *************************

Earlene, on your left (and not quite in the photo...sorry, Earlene),
went to school with me, too.

I didn't meet Barbara until we started the Bunco group.
She is a gifted artist and so so sweet.

♪♪...I found my thrill on BLUEBERRY HILL, it lingered until......my dreams came true...♫♪
I LUV MR. FATS DOMINO
 ♥ ♥ ♥
This is the sweetest and best tea room hostess, ever.

" The most trying hours in life are between four o'clock and the evening meal. A cup of tea at this time adds a lot of comfort and happiness. "

                  ~Royal S. Copeland
                                                                                                           BOURBON, YA'LL

Can't remember just who had this amazing dessert but she offered us all a bite...sweet thang.

But no one took the bite as we all had these scrumptious delights of our own.

We all enjoy each other so so much and look forward to our times together.

We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month and
NOV. is my month.
I am searching hi and lo for great foods to serve these friends of mine...

This will be my 2nd time to have the gathering in the Summer House...

Last year we had
CREAMY POTATO SOUP with cheese and Oyster Crackers...
and
Grape and Pecan laden CHICKEN SALAD, served on special buns..

snacks of all kinds 'cause ya wanna eat all thru the games...:)

So much fun gathering all the good things and finding all kinds of cute containers to serve them in....

just once a year lets you splurge a little bit.

A cookie bar is ALways a hit...so easy to eat and easy to serve
with hot or cold drinks.

We had a blast...
and I know we will again this year.
Sure looking forward to it.

Happy Birthday to Martha  11/3/14
Lots of Love to you, my sweet friend.

  3. Sounds like fun and I love cheesecake and also pecan pie.

I meet with about 20 - 30 women every week to play UNO.
This week is our Thanksgiving meal..no UNO playing this week.
We all bring a food item or donate money towards food.
We plan to have turkey/ham and all the trimmings.

    Have fun hosting!

  4. Love the little white picket fence behind Barbara and Earlene ... love the cheesecakes, too! But most of all, I love the thought of tasting a jalapeno-popper quiche. You KNOW I'm going to Google this now, don't-cha! :)

  5. BJ, I had to look up bunco before commenting and it sounds easy enough - not like bridge! :-) It's always fun to get together with a group of ladies for any reason but when decadent desserts are on the menu, that's even better.
How sweet that you still have grade school friends.
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday.

  10. You're right about the calories BJ and I was feeling guilty about eating all of the left over chocolates we put out at Halloween and no one came for! I need to join a Bunco group and chill a bit - yours looks like great fun!

  18. I had to google bunco, never heard before. It says no skills needed - would suit for me! :) but all those calories would make me sick - I like salty snacks...okay, a piece of cheese cake would go! :)

  19. Oh, the quiche is not all that fatty, the fruit adding fiber and a natural sweetness to our diets. So, some nutritional value still remains after sampling all th baked goods. I'd call this really good eating!

  20. Yes, indeed, wonderful post, I like pie!

  38. Hi BJ, looks like you and the girls had some fun and a lot of good things to eat. I get together with 3 of my friends once a month and go out to lunch and shopping. We all worked together and retired about the same time. I am the oldest , pushing 75 in a couple of days, but I don't feel that old and this kind of stuff keeps us young..Happy Tuesday..Judy

  39. This looks like so much fun! And the desserts just made it even sweeter! I was visiting another blog recently and saw an idea that made me think of you...the hostess was having a biscuit bar for a ladies get together. She had hot biscuits with a variety of jellies and also some different meats as well. I know how much you love biscuits and jam! It would be perfect for your upcoming Bunco party!

  40. Well this was certainly not a post for me to come across today - when there's not a drop of sweet in the fridge or cupboard LOL
Looks like such fun BJ - and can I just mention how incredibly beautiful you look?
    Not sure if I read right - and I'm sure I didn't - you're not 76?
    There's just no way.
    XOXO
