Isn't this heavy, metal twine holder so cute ?
I fell in love with it instantly...
it was sitting way in the back on a shelf...
and there was only ONE.
and there was only ONE.
I wondered about that little hook...
was it meant to hold a small pair of scissors...?
and...if so....where were they. ?
The young salesgirl didn't know anything about any scissors..
she just knew that it was their last one...
and she put a $16.95 price on it....and I almost tore up my purse, getting the money out.
When I got home, I googled "small scissors for twine holder"
and THIS came up...
HEY...wait a minute...
this is the EXACT
same twine holder..!!
and there's SCISSORS....
AND....
THIS IS
$74.23
YEP...
SEVENTY-FOUR DOLLARS...
thru SEARS.
$17.00 and NO scissors....
I'll take THAT deal any day of the week...
...and besides....
I have these little (ugly) scissors
that I hung on the hook......for now :>)
I did find a few cute scissors on EBAY...
pretty pricy, tho....
I may and I may not buy scissors for this cute twine holder...
I just MAY use that money to buy something else CUTE....:>)
Ya know...there's cuteness every where you look.....:>)
DON'T SWEAT THE LITTLE STUFF.........
and when I ask myself, "will it REALLY make a difference in my life if I buy pricy, vintage scissors?",
I think, awww, maybe I'll find some at a thrift shop sometime......for 3 or 4 bucks....not that important to me..
if these little brown handled scissors will cut that twine, I'm happy.
....in fact, now that I'm looking at it again...
I kinda like the little brown handled scissors hanging out with
my new BIRDIE TWINE HOLDER.
Another instance where it pays to shop around.
(altho...I wasn't really shopping for it...just happened on it.)
I did find these for $29. on up at different places.
I adore this! Practical and so cute too :-)
