I WANT A SUN ROOM......Wait...WHAAAT ??

Our dining room BECOMES a SUN ROOM
during the good ole summertime....♪♪♫
*

With 5 large windows...and 2 sets of glass doors...
it is a Sun Room Dream Come True

So much natural light flows into this large, delightful room,
I am thankful to have plantation blinds to regulate the light.

With all the windows and the
DOUBLE FRENCH DOORS,
plants are growing like crazy....
I'm working on a post to show you the progress of my ivies and other plants..

While I'm here... I have
A BISCUIT REVIEW...
...the best DESSERT biscuits I've ever had..

 ...and while they were baking,
I brewed up this new coffee...
WHITE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE !!!!
now...
if THAT doesn't blow your skirt up, I don't know what will...
just simply DELICIOUS..

You pretty much HAVE to try these dessert biscuits..
HAVE  TO....
Some biscuits are made to be sprinkled with SUGAR....
DELECTABLE...
CRYING OUT FOR SWEETENED WHIPPED CREAM and BERRIES.

They are light....
tender...
flaky....
and perfect for dollops of sweetness...
almost.....ALmost like a pie crust...
a shortcake.

My ole ruff and tuff, down-on-the-farm biscuit recipe is more for
butter...gravy...cowboys

These are light and airy and ritzy and full of flavor...

You have to go to Betsy's blog for the delectable recipe.

(she serves them up pretty, too)

While you're there, would you please tell her I said HEY ?
...THANKS

  1. Hi Bj,
You've made me hungry and wanting a lovely sunroom and swimming pool like yours. My goodness girl, but you live the good life.

  2. I'm just in love with our pretty new home, BJ, and love all of the light coming in the windows. Oh, your biscuits! Looks so delicious. Your posts reminded me at times when my little mother would make homemade biscuits, we'd butter them and just sprinkle sugar inside on the melted butter. Loved my 'sugar' biscuits. Happy Mother's Day, sweet friend.
    Blessings,
    Shelia ;)

  3. Your dining room/ sun room is beautiful BJ! I can imagine that it must be a wonderful place to sit in the morning with that first cup of coffee. Those biscuits.........we call them Tea Biscuits - make my mouth water. I'm heading over to look at the recipe! Happy Morners' Day!

  5. Goodness! I laughed out loud when I read "blow your skirt up" ... I haven't heard that in ages. Great sun room. This time of year I'm too busy trying to keep the sun out to enjoy a sun room! :) It's almost my hibernation time. Ha! Great biscuits. I didn't see the recipe at Betsy's right off the bat, but the strawberry poke cake looked good! Happy Mother's Day.

  11. It is a very special room you have. The blinds do add to the atmosphere. I am fortunate to have much light in my tiny cottage.
You stirred a memory in me with the skillet biscuits. Mom used to do that when we were very small. I forgot about that!
I hope you had a special Mothers Day!

  20. I'll bet you and your sweet Mr. Enjoy your dining room turned sunroom so much. The light and cheeriness just leads to a happy day. Now, about those biscuits...looks like yummy heaven on a plate!
Hope your Mother's Day was as wonderful as YOU!

  21. The biscuits look great! And yes, I'd say move the dining table and celebrate the sun! It's a wonderful room and so good for plants. I love my wee house but it has horrible light for indoor plants. I tend to kill them on a regular basis, not because of drought but because of light. I'm always so glad when spring returns!

  22. BJ, We must have been in the same line when they handed out a sense of humor (make your skirt blow up :) And please forgive me for 'skirting' past the biscuits---just too much temptation ;)
And . . .what a perfect sun room to pass through everyday!

  26. That would be a perfect sun room for me. As I love the sunshine and still not be out in the wind. You need to see if they do not h ave a cooking show out there you can be on.

  27. Hello bj, Your breakfast room definitely qualifies for a 'sunroom'. Beautiful and full of light everywhere. I 'love' your decor and I am also drooling for the dessert biscuits. The blue dishes give the perfect look for Sally's Blue Monday or anyone for that matter. A lovely post as always my dear sister friend.

    Love and hugs,
    Jeanne

  33. I want a sunroom too, but that will not happen. Will just have to enjoy my porch. So nice to be able to have fresh plants in the house. I know you really enjoy that. Thanks for sharing your pretty room and of course, making us hungry with delicious biscuits.

  34. Your friend's biscuit recipe is almost identical to what I use to make scones, only I use butter instead of shortening. No matter, get them baked and they're scrumptious for shortcake or to slather with lemon curd.
Really, who needs a formal dining room these days, if I had it to do over again I probably wouldn't have one and would opt for a sun room too. Enjoy your summer and biscuits dear lady, and thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday BJ.

There is nothing sweeter than berries and whipped cream, and yours makes me want to make more, and try making them in a skillet!! ;) The one thing I didn't capture is the whipped cream melting into the warm shortcake! Yummm! Enjoy your week!
