Something kind of special...

Hi, everyone...
I am sorry for all the snow that's been dumped on so many states.
I have never been in that much snow for an extended time ...
* here in West Texas, in 1956, we had over 30 inches but nothing like that since.

This following is such an easy way to dress up a meatloaf
or any kind of meat mixture you might want to use
for the next time you have a party...or just a group of friends over for
drinks and snacks.

I added cheese, onions, peppers, spices, chili sauce/ketchup,
bread crumbs, egg....not remembering what else.

Roll it up....roll it up and throw it in a pan...
No...wait...
that's a patty cake.

After filling the long log of pastry,
cut it in pieces...bite size or a little larger.

Brush a little egg white on each piece and you will have such a
delightful browning to these little morsels.

I made a dipping sauce..(I just LUV dipping sauces)
with Ranch Dressing, Cayenne Pepper
and a splash or two of FRANKS RED HOT SAUCE.

I've made these little honeys with thin ham slices hugged in sharp cheddar
and they are DELICIOUS....especially dipped in HONEY MUSTARD....UMMMM

I think next time, I will do sausage and cheese...
ummmm....sounds good to me.

  4. My mouth's watering ... and not so much for the main event, as that Ranch dressing dipping creation. Love how you experiment with flavors and don't mind sharing!

  5. Ok, I just might be able to eat meatloaf now, if it's rolled in puff pastry! Brilliant!

  8. HI bj! I bet you thought I fell in the toilet and drowned! Darn near did. Anyway, I've missed getting over here and being charmed off my chair.
I'm so sorry. I'm a terrible blogger friend, Your simple and delicious recipe sounds wonderful. I must make these for Downton Abby night. The kids always come and we watch together. This will make great snacks. You are well? I read clear to the bottom of the page. Your snowey background sure fits the season the east is having. Nothin' but sunshine here! A bit of wind today..and that's the weather report for the evening.
Big HUGE hugs and love to you.

  14. BJ, a clever way to make a meat loaf. It's my hubby's favorite, and he always has some left over for a sandwich.

  15. It looks yummy! I might try it. But odds are - it won't go over well at our house. My husband doesn't eat much bread (which is what makes it look yummy) and I don't eat much meat. I actually have quit liking ANY meat. I can eat Chic Fil A chicken and pepperoni on my pizza and tacos, burritos or other Mexican food - where the meat is somewhat disguised, but if the meat looks or taste like meat, I have to pass.

  17. Oh man that sounds good!

BJ, aren't you the one that told us about Rosa's Cafe? Seems like you mentioned it several years ago. We have one here in Rockwall now and we are eating Taco Tuesday for $3.99 about twice a month. It's more food than I can eat but cheaper than making that meal yourself. :)
