Who SAID "Man can not live by BREAD ALONE...????

'cause, I sure think I CAN !!

I saw this at the grocery store last week and couldn't wait to try it.

I dearly LUV homemade yeast bread and this box says,

"No Knead Bread Mix...
just add water...
less than 1 HOUR..."

so I bought 2 boxes...
one COUNTRY WHITE
and the other is
a Garlic bread.

I made the COUNTRY WHITE this morning for breakfast and,
boy, is it GOOOOD.

O, and this
PEPPER JELLY
with TABASCO
is my new favorite....

not hot but a little spicy and very sweet.

Mr. Sweet says he will stay with the conventional jellies...
but he likes this ok.

(This is my Weekly Top Shot)
**********************************

The only thing I will add to the next loaf I make...
a little extra SALT.
This wasn't quite salty enuf for me.

It is very good bread....excellent toasted....and I love love love the EASE of it all...

AND.....

it surely is good with CREAMED GRAVY
with lots of black pepper....
and
a little cup full of
MANDARIN ORANGES !!!

*********************************

O, and I wanted to tell you that I made a coconut cream pie for our home fellowship this last weekend
and put it in a GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST
which I had never done before....always used a regular pie crust...

We LOVED it in this crust....gave the pie a little nutty flavor.
can't wait to make another one....
I am SUCH a piggy for anything SWEET.

YA'LL HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY.
XOXO

I am such a COPY CAT....

When my good blogging friend, VEE, posted about making a
PANNUKAKKU,
I just HAD to make one, too.

Her's looked sooo good.

A PANNUKAKKU is a FINNISH oven baked pancake,

...much like the GERMAN pancake, above....
I made this one last year and it was DELISH !!
Just google GERMAN PANCAKE and you will find lots of wonderful recipes for this treat.

I used TART cherries and powdered sugar on these and....

O HONEY !!

Then, I made a
SWEDISH OVEN BAKED
PANCAKE...

a little more dense than the
GERMAN PANCAKE but
very tasty.

For this one, it was
strawberries and whipped cream....
pure HEAVEN !

So after reading about the PANNUKAKKU oven baked pancake at Vee's,
I put my BAKERY sign out, put on my CHEF hat, rolled up my sleeves and
proceeded to make one, too.

 Pannukakku
4 T. butter or margarine
4 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Cinnamon
Melt butter in 9x13 pan in oven.  Beat eggs, flour, milk, salt and vanilla and pour in pan.  Sprinkle with cinnamon.  Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes or until browned.

This recipe is from another blog that Vee furnished the link .

I bake all my pancakes in a
CAST IRON SKILLET
and just take a look at
THIS beauty.

All of these baked pancakes rise up sooo big and then, when they cool, they fall flat...
and tender...
and tasty....
and now I'm getting hungry for another one....

Nice and large and tender....
Vee and Judy gave us a
wonderful recipe.

My Dunkin Donuts coffee, served up in this
cute-as-can-be coffee mug....(a Christmas gift)

a glass of SUNNY D.

Smokey bacon...

sweet grapes....

ahhhh, a breakfast
FIT FOR A KING....
or QUEEN...!!

For this FINNISH delight,

I decided on using
LEMON CURD .

OOO...
this was so good.
The pancake was light and flaky...

and, as I ADORE lemon,
this was just delicious.

DON'T forget to add plenty of CINNAMON....
it really brings out the flavor of this treat.

Thanks, VEE, for sharing this awesome recipe with me.
I thought of you and John with the first bite and after that,
all I could think of was HOW GOOD IT WAS....!!  :)

THIS is the next review I will share with you.

Hoping to make it tomorrow for breakfast.

Thanks for stopping by....
I hope you have a wonderful day.

LOVE,
bj

Pears and Apples.....

I've often wondered....
If I could choose ANY God-Given talent, what would I choose....??

I am pretty sure I would choose to be able to PAINT.

I've seen such beautiful paintings...
and I've seen such beautiful FRUITS that just screamed,

 "Paint me !!"

Yes, ma'am.....
I would dearly love to be able to paint ANYthing
but, for some reason, I find  fruit to be something I'd REALLY love to paint.

OK....I can't PAINT FRUIT....

but I CAN make an
APPLE PEAR CRISP
using THIS RECIPE off the net.

I had to cut the recipe waaay down as I didn't have nearly enuf fruit for the recipe.

I had only
1 apple
2 1/2 apple/pears

I cut the recipe in half....other than the fruit (had less than 1/2)
and it made a really nice sized Crisp.
.....enuf for Mr. Sweet and I and COMPANY, too. :)

I cut up all the fruit into small chunks...

I always use FRUIT FRESH on my fresh fruits...

keeps the fruit from changing colors and helps keep it looking ....
well........fresh..!

DUH ... !!

After adding all the ingredients for the TOPPING,
I added a good handful of PECANS,
altho the recipe doesn't call for  them, I add them every chance I get.

Into a 350 oven for 30 minutes...

after checking the doneness of the fruit,

I baked it all about 25 minutes longer.

...got all the bowls and pans washed up ......

while the Crisp baked to a
GOLDEN GOODNESS.....

OOO, it looks sooo good.

Mr. Sweet brought home 2 delicious burgers from town...

(this one is mine and I take off tomatoes and most of the lettuce..
I like my pickles and onions ON THE SIDE...)
sooo, my burger looks really flat.
and I was sooo glad I'd made DESSERT.

 XOXO, bj

...it surely was YUMMY.

The Pinks and Blues of it All....

...my little vanity area is coming together nicely....

The tile is finished and Mr. Sweet did a super good job on it.

He is in the process of patching a couple of holes
(the light fixture had to be moved)
and, when it dries, I will repaint the wall.)

The new tile matches the wall paint and it looks super cool.

I'm really happy with the little medicine chest with the two beveled mirrors....

I AM thinking it might....
just MIGHT.....
be hung a little low and we may raise it a bit.

See the cute TINY silver clock...?....

It's a Brighton and I won it as a door prize drawing just before Christmas.

I was excited...!!!

It looks cute, sitting in the dressing area.

This mirror isn't hung as yet...
probably today.....

While looking for something just darling in turquoise for this "new" room,
I found this large, plump BIRD couple...
I just love them and they were sooo inexpensive....
$6 each at....
BIG LOTS...!!!

I've found more cute things at BIG LOTS and it's turned out to be a favorite store of mine.

I am liking pinks and blues in my new space....

BUT...

I do hope your day is wonderful....
