Passing by these olden buildings, behind the metal rail fence one day,
I stopped and snapped a few photos.

Isn't it funny how most of us LUV fences, old buildings
and BARNS...

The thing I love about the weekly GOOD FENCES is
the fact that it gets me off my keester and out on the country roads in search
of that SPECIAL fence.

SOMEtimes, I am surprised to find a great fence in places I didn't expect....
and the olden buildings and barns are an added treat.

This beauty, chock full of CHARM, is just about to fall completely down..
it makes me sad...

I am sure that the fella that built it, a long time ago, was SOOO proud of it.

Was there a bell in the little....house on top  Or...some kind of pulley...?

...a fence, an olden, wooden double garage and a windmill....
I'm  in  love !

  2. That IS an awesome thing about featuring fences each week. I had to take a road trip for an article once and it led my husband and I down the Natchez Trace, which I'd never driven before despite living in Nashville most of my life. I still remember that experience, long after the article was published!

  8. I love the barn with the bell tower. That is so pretty! I'm such a huge fan of old, worn, thing. (Good thing, since I'm becoming older and worn-er with ever minute.)

  10. I grew up on a farm and my dad used to say that you could tell a lot about a farmer just by looking at his fence. It seems, a good farmer keeps a well maintained fence. Cows get out due to lazy farmers and a dilapidated fence is often due to a dead farmer. But if you farm or ranch - you are judged by your fence so that is probably the purpose of some of the over the top nice fences.
Another thing I like is bridges. Especially in the snow and ice when icicles hang all over them.
