"AWWW......RUBBISH !! "

We saw a few olden structures on our trip that I thought would be great for RUBBISH TUESDAY.

...somewhere in New Mexico

Just a tiny shed with a sweet little metal roof.

 "I'll huff....and I'll puff....and I'll blow your house down..."

I guess this one will stand a little longer since it's mainly made of brick and stone.

I have no idea what this charming building was used for...
no signs around...nothing to give us a clue.

It looks Swedish to me....but being in New Mexico...???

MAYbe a Swedish man moved to NM,
built a barn like they do in Switzerland,
and felt more at home every time he looked at it.

(Swedish Barn image from the net.)

And, since PRETZELS are a Swedish treat.........

Grand BRYNNA, making those luscious
ROLO PRETZEL TURTLES

Small pretzels
ROLO Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate
Pecan halves.
Heat oven to 350.
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Place one pretzel for each pretzel treat desired on prepared sheet. Top each pretzel with one ROLO Chewy Caramel in Milk Chocolate.
Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until caramel piece begins to soften, but not melt. Remove from oven; top with pecan half. Cool completely.
These are so good, I PROMISE...
You can't eat just one !!!

  7. It certainly does look like a European barn there!
BJ you are a hoot - and a certifiable Sweetie!!!! Those treats look like the perfect thing to make with the grands when they want to 'bake' something in a hurry. Talk about a perfect combo of chocolate, sugar and salt!

  15. Love your post title! I feel sad whenever I see structures deteriorating. I always wonder why their owners must let that happen.

  17. That barn looks as if it would fall down if you huffed on it, let alone and puffed, Swedish or not. I love the idea of those pretzels, yum.

  20. It always breaks my heart a bit to see the old buildings tumble down, you know they don't make them like that anymore! I would love to salvage some of the wood when I see a tumbled barn, seems like most of the time they are just left to rot or hauled to the dump.

  26. I love the old barns you found. Great pictures and would not take much huffing and puffing to blow that little barn down. Looks like some beautiful old bar wood there that would be salvageable. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Brynna, like her Grandma is tempting us with those delicious looking treats. Never seen them made that way, but tempted to try to make them for Christmas treats.
    Have a great week.

  27. love all those old outbuildings but now you've sidetracked me with the rolo pretzels!

  28. What great old finds. Someone needs to tear them down instead of letting them rot away. Sad sights to me.
